Pharynx lifted his head up when he turned to see Bezier sitting next to him. “...Hey.”
“Hey.”
“How’s it been?”
“Not great,” she admitted, sighing.
“Well... what happened?”
“It’s silly. You wouldn’t understand.”
“Of course I would, Bezzy. Just tell me anything.”
She looked at him, into his sparkling lavender eyes, almost getting distracted by them before sighing heavily. “It was the cake thing...”
He blinked. “What cake thing?”
“Heath wanted me to let him feed me cake...”
Pharynx gritted his teeth for a moment. “Well... that’s—”
“Changelings have been making fun of me for it ever since I walked out of there! ‘What are you, eleven months old?’ ‘Do you not know how to use a dang fork?’“ Bezier groaned. “It’s been driving me crazy.”
Pharynx resisted the urge to growl. “Take it easy, calm down. I’ll go have a word with them... all of them.”
“Even Heath? Pharynx, I really don’t think that’s—”
