Salvete!
Okay, I'm going to address what went wrong back there in new years. I said, and I quote:
Suffice it to say, Part Twelve will be published this month. It just needs a little more time.
Obviously, that did not happen, and I went dark about it for two weeks after the missed due date.
The reason is simple. I set a date I couldn't live up to without releasing an unpolished chapter. I'm not going to cite excuses, just the facts of what happened. I couldn't finish in time.
I found some plot holes similar to the ones I fixed in Part Eleven. That resulted into a domino effect where this paragraph was out of spec, then that one, and that one, then another needed fixing. It's continued like that for the last. Sixteen. Days. In. Total.
I had to make a choice at day 28 of last December: Either I commit to my promise and publish an incomplete chapter, effectively pulling a Bethesda, or I break my promise and double down for quality control reasons. I chose quality, and not to post about it until I had some good news.
Okay, that's why I missed the due date, and stayed silent this far along. I also added an extra part to this mini dream saga. I'm calling this coming chapter, Part 1.5/2, not Part 2/2 (laughing at myself here). On a side note, I realize the odd direction I've taken Neil has garnered mixed feelings, to say the least. It's alright, just be patient. You'll understand why soon enough.
Now for the good news: I am revising my publishing announcement methods. To ensure this saga of disappointment stops, I'm going to employ the magical word called, Soon. Groundbreaking, right? I knew I'd figure it out eventually. In other words, unless I have something right now in my hands polished and ready to go, I will not give a due date.
So, when will part 12.5 be ready? Soon. Lol. Really though, it's in the last editing stages; take that as you will. In fact, I'm posting this and then going back to finishing it.
That is all for now. Have a good one. Sorry about the mess.
Valete.
Good things take time, take all you need, but remember...
