Zenex tossed and turned in bed, worrying the other Fangs. At first, they assumed it was a dream about what the Change Gang had done. Heck, they were surprised at how precise the surprise was. But it was apparent that it wasn’t the surprise.

Hive reached a hoof over, running it down Zenex’s neckfin. Zenex woke up and stared at him, before bawling his eyes out. Hive flinched slightly, but pulled him close. What was Zenex crying for?

Zenex sat in a chair, his hooves tied behind his back. He looked up to see Hex smiling at him.

“Great, you’re awake,” he said, letting the back of Zen’s head go. The nymph looked up to see Hive sitting in front of him. He then looked over to see Flutters sitting a few inches to his right, hooves tied behind her back as well. “We have the whole family together. Except, we’re missing someone...” Hex leaned closer to Hive. “Where’s Bezier?”

Hive glared at him. “I ain’t telling you a damn thing...”

“Really?” Hex chuckled. “Well, that’s just a shame.” He pulled out a sidehoof and fired it into Zen’s chest.

“No!” Hive stared at Zenex.

Flutterwings growled at him. “You sonofabitch I’m gonna kill you!”

“Easy pigtails, I ain’t even started with you yet,” Hex smiled, loading more shots into the sidehoof.

“Look at Zen... look at me kid!” Hive pleaded with the nymph, who slowly raised his eyes.

“That’s right, look at him,” Hex said. “Show him all the pain he’s causing you.”

“Damnit Hex!” Hive snapped. “Leave these two out of this!”

Hex chuckled. “Who’s holdin’ the crossbow though?”

“You were never one of us...” Hive replied. “You’re not a Fang...”

Hex’s eyes narrowed. “Well, that’s just because I’m better than you!” he snapped, throwing a punch to the side of Hive’s face, and continuing to do so.

Zenex began to wiggle free of his rope. Before long, he was able to lunge at Hex, trying to grab the crossbow. Hex instead made him shoot it at Hive.

“Heheh... didn’t Hive ever tell you not to aim crossbows at creatures?” he teased. “They could go off!”

“Damnit Hex! Stop!” Flutters tried to lunge, beginning to free herself.

“That’s it!” Hex continued to force Zen’s aim. “Aim it... at... Hive!” Another shot went into Hive’s chest. At this point, Zen had given up and let go of the crossbow, allowing Hex to whip him across the face with it, sending him to the ground.

“Zenex! Zenex!”

“Woo!” Hex looked at him. “You got fire in ya, kid. I like that. Riskin’ your life to protect your Lieutenant.”

“He’s my brother!” Hive snapped.

“Yeah? And he’s gonna get to watch you die.” Hex then shot him three more times.

“No! No! Hive!!”

Hex threw Hive to the ground, ignoring the threats coming from Flutterwings.

Hive managed to look at Zenex. “I’m proud’a you Zenny...” he uttered. “Everything’s gonna be... okay...”

“Oh you’re right Hive,” Hex said, stepping over Hive. “I’m not a Fang. I’m the one who hunts them, and rips them out.” With that, Hex put the crossbow to Hive’s head and pulled the trigger.
