When Oath met Skill Tree

I've been playing the game Them's Fighting Herds on Steam and I wanted to draw Oath in that style or as close as I could get. I'm experimenting a bit with different things and seeing what works or what I enjoy.

This piece is of Oath meeting a Kirin named Skill Tree. Skill Tree was found lost in the forest surrounding Hollow Shades, he had been attacked by an adolescent Hydra that had spit acid on his leg. Skill Tree managed to get away but he collapsed near Hollow Shades. He was found by Oath after she was leaving her shift with the Night Guard, delirious Skill Tree panicked and fought against Oath while she was trying to treat him but one look at her teeth as she told him to calm down stopped that really quick.

As time passed Oath and Skill Tree became friends, Skill Tree and Oath play games together and hang out together after work. Though Oath doesn't really grasp them well she tries as much as she can to get better to be able to play with Skill Tree who is a master of games.

This was based on some truth as my SO was very serious when we first met and hardly smiled or cracked a grin and I did everything I could to make them to smile when we first met. The Kirin is my S.O’s Sona and I wanted to draw our OCs together.

So when I asked them what kind of creature they think they’d be in MLP they said they’d probably want to be a Kirin. They loved the designs and when I told them about the Kirin it seemed like a perfect match. Since they love games like MMORPGs and adventure games the name seemed perfect.

This is also my first go at drawing Kirin though I like how Skill Tree turned out there’s always room for improvement.
