first of all, lemme just say:

ok now that i've got that outta my system, let's talk hiatus, burnout, all that stuff.
so here's the main thing: i can't keep doing daily chapters. i want to! but i can't. when i started posting azure edge, i had almost nothing going on in my life outside of horse fiction, and that is extremely no longer the case. horse fiction is still so important to me, but it's not the only thing i have going on anymore, and i need it to stop absorbing a disproportionate amount of my time.
the other thing is i feel lowkey embarrassed cuz alot of ppl warned me about burnout and cuz i wasn't feeling it at the time, i kinda blew 'em all off. and now i'm suffering from burnout! funny how that works!!! but yea the truth is i need a fuckin' break, and not just cuz doing chapters every single day is a ridiculous amount of work (tho that is a big part of it!), but also just cuz Life. this year's been rough for i think like every single person on the planet?? definitely for me and alot of my friends, and there's been some stuff in the last couple months that was kinda the last straw for me stress-wise.
so i need a break! and i'm gonna take that break until fuckin' february. cuz december's the holidays and january's my birthday, and i'm gonna just chill and enjoy those things without stressing about writing stuff. and i'm gonna lock sunlight and azure edge into a little box for those two months, and then i'll open it up again in february and look at the stories with fresh eyes. and i rly wanna knock 'em both outta the park when that time comes
this year's been Alot. but y'know what?? i'm fuckin' proud of myself. i may not have handled my story stuff perfectly, and there's definitely stuff in that regard i wish i'd done differently. but i put out a ton of rly good work this year, and i got alot of ppl telling me that my work meant something to them. and that's a wonderful feeling
i'm rly proud of what i've accomplished with my writing this year. and i wanna make the next one even better!
Writing should be a joy. Take the time to renew that joy.

(things got too hectic in my life to keep up daily and i haven't been in the mood to get back to it yet, but it's definitely still on my list)
Ur really mature with how you handle stuff like this. Sorry to hear that you're stressed, and I hope this break helps you get the rest that you need!! You come first, ofc!!!!

As everyone else as echoed so far, your health is important and I totally support you taking as much time as you need to recharge and recuperate. You've written two massive stories that are both really good! be proud of what you've already accomplished! I hope the break helps you focus on your health and the other priorities in your life.
