Bezier sat in the donut shop, laying the side of her head against the table. She had recently heard of what had happened between Quantum and Pentagon. First Oculus dying and now this? Why couldn’t her best friend catch a break for once?

“Bezier...?”

Her ears perked when she heard that baritone voice. She furrowed her brow when she saw Pharynx standing behind her. “I’m not talking to you...” she mumbled.

“I know, but I wanna talk to you. It’s... something I’ve been meaning to tell you. Well, uh... I mean, not exactly meaning but I could’ve told you, but I—”

“Just get to the point so we could get this over with then.”

Pharynx sighed. “Well, the whole reason I didn’t want you with Oculus—”

“It’s back to that topic isn’t it?” Bezier asked bitterly as she turned to face the changeling.

“Well, yeah... the reason I did that is... I...”

“...Yes?”

“BezierIlikeyoualot!”

Her eyes bulged. “Wait... wh-”

“It’s a long story, but I think you’re smart, you’re funny, and you have a backbone and you-you... you...” Pharynx sighed. “Point is, Bez... I... I like you... a lot... you might not like me back after I killed your best friend and tried to split you guys apart, but...” Pharynx wiped his eyes. “I did it because I wanted you to like me the way you like him...”

Bezier stood there in silence, with wide eyes and her mouth agape; not just because Pharynx was saying this to her, but because there was a familiar broken-horned unicorn standing in shock behind the male changeling as this was playing out.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Bezier heard Pharynx ask her as she kept staring.
