Another week spent on a different edge. (Chapter 110 of Long Haul is out!) · 1:32am Nov 7th, 2020
Howdy there everyone, it's the first Friday of a new month! That means it's time for yet another chapter of Long Haul to go up, which is already waiting for you to dig into! So if you're looking for a distraction to take you away from some of the chaos of the last week here in the real world, (and who right now couldn't use a bit of a distraction!) then feel free to dive back into Night's life for an interesting turn of events. Or, if like normal you want to chill and hear some of my other thoughts going on, like a follow up on the old question of 'how much longer will the story go', you can find it down below in the rest of the post.
So, I'm going to outright come forward and say it, but you may remember the estimates I gave for the remaining length of the story a while back? Yeah, probably not going to hit those. One of the reasons my writing had slowed was because those estimates had created this expectation in my mind that they were absolute fixed things I needed to follow. Since I've kicked those ideas out of my head, I've found my writing flow coming back a bit easier. In truth, answering for how much more story there was got me to forget one of the things I've been saying on here over and over for years now. This is my story, and I'm writing it for me. I shouldn't have to worry about having it 'run too long', because if something needs to happen, it needs to happen the way I feel it must.
So this isn't me brushing off the idea that the story is bloated, or that there's a lot in it that could be cut. I know that if this were a serious novel I was writing to publish professionally, this whole thing has been done terribly. And don't get me wrong, this story is working towards a conclusion.
But I've been enjoying myself writing this story, and it's going to make its way to the end in the way I planned it to. That being said, look forward to some fun stuff happening around the Seaddle area as Night and friends continue their trek south towards the Ark!
Anyway, that's all for this week's blog post. Hopefully you can give the new chapter a read and give me your thoughts on what happens! Otherwise, you'll see me right back here again next month for yet another chapter and blog post. So until then, take care, stay safe, and I'll see you all again next time.
Yay! Another chapter. Thanks Gamma Deekay.
