So I had this goofy idea for a story and I figured, that I might ask you all this weird question. If you were a unicorn and you had the ability to summon tentacles into reality what are some Safe For Work activities/pranks/tasks that you would do with those tentacles?
Try not to make this too weird, for the record I do think that tickling (especially in the fetishy sense) is weird (just my opinion), just keep it fun.
EDIT: I should probably clarify that when you summon the tentacles, you aren't summoning the tentacles on your body (like additional limbs) but can have them appear on any surface that you can see.

Any kind of jumpscare; with those, it doesn't really matter what pops up so long as it does so suddenly and shouldn't have been able to fit in the space it was in.
Jumping out of their closet to scare them.

Well, it depends. What kind of tentacle? Octopus? Slime? Mana? All of ‘em? Some are better for this, others for that, soo...
Some of the things all of them can do are holding stuff for all kinds of work, writing, picking stuff up, reaching for stuff if your arms or legs are too short, giving a massage, ...
Some ot those thing are pretty useless, considering our character is a unicorn, but having more arms is always great.

Any task that requires manual dexterity is a good fit, especially since a certain maid’s smoke tentacles appear to Function semi-autonomously.
Sorting fruit or any other items for quality, sewing multiple garments at once, feeding/scratching/petting many animals at once. Mixing and baking at 15% the speed of a certain pink mare, putting dozens of books back onto their shelves simultaneously, Possibly even writing out multiple things at once.
There is very little that could not be done faster by working in parallel.

You could jump rope, they could weave themselves into a trampoline, or you could play any number of playground games (catch, basketball, even monkey bars) with some tentacles, though I'm sure those sorts of things are more popular with foals.
I bet Twilight or Moondancer would be thrilled to have their help holding books-- I know I have trouble getting into a position that is comfortable for reading, while also allowing me to physically hold up a book lol. Rarity would probably like it, too; she also often needs more hooves than she has. If I could summon tentacles at will, I'd probably use them to make a really cozy hammock for reading and napping
Just try to think of any activities you could do with a rope (single tentacle), fabric (woven tentacles), or a buddy (but probably aim young-- I doubt tentacles would have the capacity for stimulating conversation, but they could probably play a mean game of patty cake lmao).

5374971 My thought was that they are of an organic nature like part of a living creature (or species of creature), so kind of like an octopus/alien. Thought that isn't to say that they can't have special abilities like manipulating mana or slime.

And after you´re done, just shift ‘em and you got another circle without all the annoing preparation.
Or even better!
You could use them as an circle that can be reshaped while casting. Or circles that are not circles, but actually speheres! And then make ‘em move, so you can fit even more “writing” into it without making an 3km circle. Or let them change in a way that causes the magic to flow circles trough purification runes, or to keep mana stored so that multiple mages can push more and more mana into the spell/ritual/whatever! Or over an large amount of time, so that the mages can empty their mana into the circle(or spehre, while you´re at it), then rest while others take care of it, and then repeat! LIMITLESS POWER!! THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!!
(I like ritual/circle/rune/etc-based spells. Did anyone notice?)
