October Update · 6:49am Oct 2nd, 2020
Time’s been flying by almost too fast it feels. Lots of life stuff still getting me down, but I’m trying to keep more upbeat lately. October is one of my favorite months of the year, and coincidentally that’s the month I have a lot of big things planned for at least two stories, both of which are passion projects of mine.
Firstly, “Do Ponies on Earth Have Magic Dreams?” Is back to weekly updating for now. This could obviously change, but that’s the plan for right now. This story is my favorite to write and release updates for, and I’m still actively trying to get feedback and comments, which I struggle to get regularly. I’m definitely proud of how the story is going, and I feel like I’ve really been able to use what I’ve learned to make a better story overall. I know it’s an inconvenience and probably not worth the time for a lot of people, but I really wish I could get them more often. I don’t feel like I have a good idea of what people like with the story, and that’s something I’m really trying to get a basic understanding of. Im not meaning to just get for comments, but if you read the story and enjoy it please let me know what you think, or what you’re looking forward to with it. Hell, if you don’t, feel free to tell me why. Even just a simple “I like this” or “I didn’t like this” still goes a long way and at least helps me feel a little more confident as a writer.
“Stardust’s Odyssey” should hopefully see another update or two soon too. The story is my other passion project and that’s going to wind up taking a more relaxed route for a while. Less action based chapters that focus more on character growth, that’ll eventually lead into the ending in a bigger way.
And now for some less good news: “New Horizons” is essentially stalled in the water for now. The next leg of the story is going to be a lot bigger, almost like it’s own separate story that starts to build off of threads that have been laid out in the chapters so far. What this means is that there’s going to wind up being a lot of planning and working out some of the finer details, and hopefully I’ll get back into that soon.
In addition to the updates, I have at least one one shot fully written and awaiting release, and a direct sequel to “Missing Mango Tree” starting production. I also have another longer entry that’s set in the same continuity as “Do Ponies on Earth Have Magic Dreams?” “Desert Getaway” and “New Horizons” in active writing, but no estimate on when that’ll be out. That story won’t necessarily be directly connected to any of my other Pandemic AU stuff, but shares some of the dream related settings and mythos, and will eventually tie into some of my characters and the dream group that’s been mentioned.
That’s about it for this month, hopefully I’ll have some new stuff out soon, and again, if you enjoy any of my writing, please don’t be afraid to tell me what you think about it, that really does mean the world to me, and I’ve been trying so hard to get that kind of response from my readers. I don’t know how many people are actually excited to see my new updates or even care about my work, but I like to imagine that I’ve at least entertained someone.
