Some life events, and how they'll affect writing. · 12:48am Sep 19th, 2020
Hey everyone.
I've kept a pretty consistent release schedule for the novel over the past year or so. 17 out of 20 chapters are already available, which means I'm making much faster progress than I did back when I wrote Hocus Pocus.
But just a heads up; the last few are going to be a bit slower.
So, unfortunately, this week I scheduled what will be my fifth surgical procedure in the last year and a half. I don't want to go into the details of that since it's potentially gross, but I'll point out that it's not anything life threatening. It is, however, a recurring problem that my doctor seems to be unable to permanently fix, and by this point its starting to get to me mentally that I might be dealing with issues that require surgical correction for a long time.
I also made a post a while back about quitting my job before finding a new one, but ultimately, didn't go through with that because it became apparent that this health issue that I thought was fixed is actually not, so I definitely need to hang onto my health insurance to afford surgery, no matter how much my job sucks. I'm continuing to search for a new one though, and I'll let you guys know when I get one.
But anyway: Basically there's been no escape from my bad job situation so far and now there's a bad health situation too, and so I'm finding it hard to keep consistent writing rolling alongside all that.
Magic of the Heart is NOT cancelled. It's not even on hiatus. I'm still actively working on it. Just... more slowly than I have been up to this point. For the final three chapters, I won't be sticking to a release schedule like I did for the first 17. When I CAN confidently tell when a chapter will be ready, I'll announce it here. Usually two weeks before I can post it. In the meantime, I just ask that those reading be patient, and the ending will be along in due time.
Thanks for your support for and comments on the story so far!

Most importantly, you take care of yourself first, PRB. Remember we are here for you and wishing you good luck.
wow, damn D: hang in there
Even without changing the Ongoing status, it's nice of you to let people know it's slowing down. Or telling about anything concerning your medical situation. You really weren't obligated to do that.
Thanks for letting us know. I hope the surgery will go okay.
