    New ideas

I am about to do the episode Ponyville Confidential and I am not sure which idea to choose from. Let me know which one sounds the most fun for all of you or if you have a better idea I will add it to the list.

Using the golem to work in the orchard instead of his magic
Something to do with courting Twilight (secretly dating)
No evidence of hunting monsters (lying to everypony)

Ideas for fight · 4:18am Sep 13th, 2020

Hey, guys! I have been rewriting one of the chapters and I have two ideas for scenes in it. I am on the fence about both of them so I figure why not bring you guys in on the choice and see where it leads. I have not been able to figure out which one I like more so I figure if anyone can help its all of you who have read it before! I will be putting in a bit of each of them and you guys can vote for which one gets used! Thank you always and hopefully this new version will bring in a few new things that will prove to be fun.

OPTION 1:

They had been walking for over an hour with him occasionally altering their course to follow the game trails versus going through the rougher patches of terrain. He had caught several looks from the others when he changed their course but so far they had not asked him for details. Twilight still led them forward and his ears began to flick as the sound of running paws caught his attention. He stopped in his tracks and listened intently. He could not hear any other sound aside from the occasional rough patch of breathing and the paws that drummed on the ground.

“Wait.” He said to them and they stopped to look back at him.

He saw Twilight roll her eyes as she turned to look over her shoulder at him. “We don’t have time to stop Mr. Shadow.”

He didn’t reply as the sound of breathing grew louder. He watched as Twilights ears suddenly flicked and she looked back ahead of her. She backed up a step as she looked back at him and he nodded solemnly at her. He moved forward, passing them all as he went to stand ahead of them. His hooves held him easily as he closed his eyes and simply listened intently. He moved slowly forward and a small clearing spread out in front of him. The sound of drumming paws faded and now only the harsh breathing remained. He looked back and the girls were all watching him closely. Even the bold Rainbow seemed happy to let him go first. He closed his eyes and let his ears tell him what they could.

“About five or more. Maybe seven.” He muttered to himself. Behind him he heard Fluttershy whimper at the numbers he mentioned. “Stay here.”

He walked calmly out of the shelter of the trees and into the moon lit clearing. He could see several sets of eyes staring out form the darkness of the other side of the clearing. His eyes narrowed and their glow strengthened as he focused on the eyes that were in turn watching him. He moved further into the clearing and he glanced back as the mares were now hugging the edge of the clearing and watching him. His hooves were silent on the grass and the taller grasses rubbed against his legs and they tapped against his chest and shoulders. His height would give him an advantage in any fight and he rotated his shoulders to ensure his swords were in the right positon for use.

A loud growl came from the other side and several creatures emerged from the darkness. Their bodies were wood like and leaves covered their bodies in places. They acted much like the wolves he was used to and he waited as several of them showed up and began to surround him. Behind him he heard the girls gasp and he glanced back as Twilights horn charged. He caught her eye and shook his head. She looked shocked and her horn went dormant as Applejack patted her shoulder and told her to let him be. He went back to watching the pack of monsters as they circled him as best as they were able. He began to move toward them slowly, one hoof in front of the other as they were thrown off as he approached. They were hunters and their new prey was challenging them as he moved toward them.

“Come on.” He said to them and two in the front charged him.

His body slid to the side as he moved out of the way and his hoof reached back and his claws wrapped around the hilt of his sword. The steel sword glistened in the moonlight as the runes that were embedded within it blazed to life. It crashed into the first monster and he watched as one of the runes activated and the body lit with fire. It screamed as smoke began to come off its hide. It fled the scene and he was now faced with one less monster. The rest began to charge him in one large group and he back flipped to give him some distance. He pirouetted as two charged him and he slammed the blade into one of them and then spun to let it crash into the other one as well. He rolled to the side and found that he could not roll as well as he used to and he found himself working harder to get to his hooves as he had the last time he had used it. The monsters seem to see the difficulty and one lunged in to get a hold oh his hide.

A scream rang out from behind him as he rolled his body backward and his rump went over his shoulder as the monsters jaws closed on nothing but air. He was back on his hooves as his mane settled back on his neck and he tilted his head to let his forelock get out of his eyes. He was finding that using his sword on three legs was not an option and he reared back onto his hind legs and waited for them to attack him once more. He put one hoof forward and the group now numbering five advanced as well. His wings clung tightly to his sides as he had no need of them as he tossed the sword into the air and his jaws gripped the hilt as he charged forward.

“What are you doing!?” Twilight suddenly screamed as he moved.

He heard her question but he did not stop to address her concerns. He ducked his head and the first monster crashed into his chest and he felt its claws graze his shoulder as he spun under it and the blade activated once more and it was lit aflame. He paused as it fled and his mind rushed into place as he realized that there should only be three left. He glanced back and the tow that he had bashed into pieces were not dead and had already rejoined the fight.

OPTION 2:

Time had ticked past as they moved through the Everfree. The Witcher remained at the back of the group as they walked ahead. He had corrected their course once already and now they were once more hugging the side of a ridge. The mares were smaller in stature and were able to duck easily under the roots and other limbs that protruded from the walls above them. He ducked under and he was able to see a look back at him from Twilight as concern was etched on her face. He made it under a low branch and rejoined them within a few strides.

“Ya okay back there, Pardner?” Applejack called out to him.

“I’m fine.” He assured her.

“Ya sure? It’s getting’ a mite bit tight.” She asked.

“I assure you I’m fine.” He replied.

The mares chuckled at his response and fell silent once more. Rainbow hovered just above them as her wings held her aloft easily. He looked up at her as she came to hover just over his shoulder and she looked down at him. He turned to watch the route ahead of him instead of the hovering mare.

“You’re almost too tall for this.” She teased.

“Almost.” He replied, his voice bland.

The Pegasus seemed annoyed at his lack of response and she flew back to her place closer to the front. He glanced down the ridge and he could see the tree line down below them and his claws dug at the stone and earth under his hooves. As he started to look away something caught his eye and he stopped in place. The trees swayed in place and a light in the dark gave him pause. He stared and the light moved slowly in the dark that stretched out below them. He looked away from it and to the mares that were now some ways ahead of him. He looked back down and his body turned to allow him to slide easily down the smooth sides of the ridge.

His hooves slid easily on the stone and he fought to keep himself properly oriented forward. The trees were still swaying and from behind him he heard a shout as he hit the tree line. He looked back as Rainbow streaked toward him. He ducked into the forest ahead of her and she stopped to look around where he had once been. The Pegasus called out in alarm at his disappearance. He ducked under a trees low hanging branches and walked deeper into the sheer dark of the forest. He cast a glance back as Rainbow seemed to give up looking for him and went back to the other mares above her. His body weaved easily through the dense trees and his eyes once more caught sight of the strange light in the trees. His ears flicked forward as the sound of breaking tree limbs rolled over his ears. He broke into a faster gait and he moved swiftly if a bit cautiously forward.

He paused as the sound became louder and clearer the closer he got to the source. His eyes widened slightly at the sight of a Fiend in a nearby clearing. He was quiet as a silent curse rolled from his mouth. His skin trembled at the sight of the enormous monster that stood before him. The Witcher was silent as the monster seemed to be disoriented and was now simply looking around its surroundings. He looked past it and he could see the broken trees and fallen limbs that showed what direction it had come from. He looked over his shoulder to ensure that the girls had not followed him and that they were safely out of this monsters way.

“Okay. Now what?” He muttered to himself. “This is the worst case scenario for being in a new body and having to fight this beast.”

His claws flexed in the grass and dirt and he leaned back on his haunches as he went over what he knew of Fiends and the tactics to fight them. He had fought more than his fair share over his years and he called on that knowledge to aid him once more. Over his shoulder his swords sat in their place and he looked back to the blades. He rotated his shoulders just enough to let them be exposed and allow him to take one from the scabbard. He moved slowly to the side to try to get a feel for the full size of the monster and he dragged his hooves partially to prevent any limbs or disturbance to reach the monsters ears.

The monsters body was huge compared to monsters he had faced recently. Its brown fur moved on its body and its skin was pale in the shade of the trees. He knew that despite its size it was remarkably fast and agile enough to prove to be a problem in a closed area like what he was faced with now. He came to the section of the wood where the monster had charged out of and he looked back the way it had come.

“Quite the distance.” He said to himself. “Okay. This thing can’t be allowed to remain, just in case some unfortunate pony comes across it.”

He moved out into the clearing, behind the monster. His hooves were silent as he reached back for the blade as he slowly advanced on the still monster. He hoped to be able to surprise it and get in a few lucky blade strikes before he was faced with its fury head on. His claws gripped the earth as he moved and the monster stilled as it scented the air. A slow, gentle wind blew toward the Witcher and he managed not to breathe loudly in relief. He was downwind and he quickened his pace slightly as he neared the monster.

He lunged forward and his body spun as he pulled the blade form the scabbard and it scored deeply into the monsters flank. It roared as he spun and sliced into it once more. It spun to him and he back flipped away from it. Experience taught him to not attack it head on, unless he had no other option. Its horns would be able to gore him if given the chance and he planned to avoid them at all costs. He had been thrown by them once in his long life and he had no desire to repeat that experience. The monster roared at the sight of him and it charged him openly. He pitched his body to the side and tried to roll away from its body. He found that rolling on four legs was much more difficult than it had been and he found himself using the claws on his other hoof to pull himself to his hooves. That took precious time that he did not have as the Fiend had in that time turned around and was coming for him again. He tapped a hoof and Quen slid over his body as the Fiend reached out with one clawed paw and it struck him hard in the shoulder. He rolled to the hooves as his body reacted to eh impact easily. His body compensated for the impact and he was able to easily roll over his own shoulder and come to rest on his hooves.

“Okay. So I can’t roll properly at this time.” He said to himself as he dodged the Fiend's claws once more.

He looked up as the Fiend's third eye opened and he backflipped to get some distance between them. He instinctively reached for his belt to get a bomb and he was reminded that he did not have a belt in this form.

Okay, here they are. Let me know what you think of them and I will add it in. These are only pieces of them since the actual section would be hugely long and I don't want to burden you guys with too much of them plus I do want the whole section to be a bit of a surprise. Thank you again!

EDIT! Option 1 it is! Thank you!

I'll vote for 'Option 1'.
Timberwolfs are 'natural' for the forest, so makes most sense to encounter some.
Also good way to showcase fighting/defending infront of the M6.

But either 1 or 2 should work... and it is above all else your story, so you are best suited to decide were the story goes ^^
(I know this part is really not helpful, but its still kinda true)

option 1 seems to fit better with the mlp theme.
but i like them both
