    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

Well, because there was no TYT this week...

Here's an absolutely adorable tutorial on how to hug your pony from doubleWbrothers.

So I've been busy away from ponies... Again...

With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

That story is now complete, and posted in its entirety over on AO3.

Happy 21st, Digimon Adventure · 1:21am Aug 2nd, 2020

As much as I want to look forward to the Last Evolution film later this year that's supposed to wrap the entire Adventure series up, another part of me will never forget how the Tri films really didn't hold up all that well. Those six films presented way more questions than they answered.

Plus, I've heard that the film focuses almost entirely on Tai and Matt. Not sure how well that's going to work either. Frontier also focused way too hard on the two male leads, essentially turning the rest of the cast into cheerleaders.

I really think Tri would have worked much better as a 50+ episode series instead of six films. Because one of the things it attempted to do was give a little more development to what the first season barely touched on with a single sentence: the group of five kids that made that journey well before the summer camp group in '99.

But it only manages to introduce two of them. Maki is somewhat similar to Jeri from Tamers. But where Jeri eventually overcomes her grief, Maki does not, and is eventually driven mad. Her final appearance is being pulled away by a tide, and she floats away on a literal ocean of despair in the fifth film.

She is not seen again, leaving her final fate completely ambiguous, a character arc that is unbelievably tragic, and unspeakably cruel.

Here's hoping that she appears in Last Evolution, but I'm honestly not counting on it; the Adventure lore has been increasingly mishandled the past five or six years.

I am sure you already know this, but there is a Digimon Adventure reboot that is really very good. It is getting a sixty-six episode run. It got put of for a few months because of Corona virus, but it is back now, and episode nine just aired tonight.

I kinda want them to do a sequel series to Tamers since it ended on a massive cliffhanger.

I'd really prefer they leave Tamers alone, purely due to the mixed reception of Tri.

And that was anything but a cliffhanger. It was open ended. There was a movie called Runaway Locomon that took place after, focusing heavily on Takato and Rika, and confirming that their partners did return.

Yup, I'm aware of Adventure 2020. Not sure if I want to leave it alone, or wait for the dub if and when one happens.

5327159 I said series not movies. I mean the second season of the original took place a few years after the events in the first so they could do something similar.

I hear you. As much as I'd love to revisit that world, I don't want to risk Toei giving us something inferior to the original.

I view Tamers as the shining gem of the franchise, and I don't want to see it tarnished.
