My first gaming PC was an Asus laptop in 2011. GTX 460M, 8GB DDR3 memory, and a i7-2700k.
In 2015, I upgraded to a desktop from Digital Storm. GTX 970, 8GB of DDR3 memory, 250GB SSD, 1TB HDD, and an aftermarket-cooled i5-4690k. In 2016 I doubled the memory to 16GB. In 2017 I upgraded to a GTX 1080.
Now, finally, it's time to jump again.
Just bought and picked up a new custom-built desktop.
GTX 1080 Ti. 16GB DDR4 memory. 1TB solid state. 4TB HDD. Water-cooled i7-9700k.
I have already apologized to my dearest for the next 48-72 hours of atrocious internet speeds as I get the appropriate downloads going.
Just reading about your new pc is like thinking about raw bliss. I'm still using Ryzen 5 1600, and GTX 1060, 16 GB RAM. Pc I built two years ago.

My 4690k is a hell of a trooper, but the 2k ultrawide I've had for a year has been pushing it to the limits. It was time for a full upgrade.

TBH, I'm surprised your 4th Gen i7 lasted this long. I mean, my Ryzen 5 1600 is just about on its last legs (maybe get another year out of it) and its only two generations behind.
