Doom Eternal latest update?

The could not leave well enough alone. They just had to make a brainless update like this. Did any of you buy Doom? How do you feel about the update!

It has Denuvo software. Which is an anti cheat software, but it's a breach of your privacy since it scans your device. Some claim it can even break your PC or cause performance issues. I don't know the full details but it sounds like spyware.

God dam it bathesda you just couldn’t leave well English alone. You actually made something good and we’re seen in a positive light and you just couldn’t let that happen. Personally I fines it very f up what Bethesda did since they never really disclosed anything about denuvo being part of the update or let people choose if they wanted to update with this program. That and all the shady ness denuvo already has makes this a really f up thing Bethesda did.

Yeah, Denuvo Anti-Cheat is so sketchy that it might as well be malware, and even if they don't abuse it, it's still an unacceptable security risk. To add insult to injury, you have to run this mess even if you're only playing the single player campaign.

I've uninstalled Doom Eternal despite only being a third through the campaign, left a bad review and requested a refund (which I didn't get) due to the bait-and-switch. Bethesda's not getting any money from me anymore in the future.
