A bit of a Delay on the Next Chapter

Thanks to the comments from a few of my valued readers, I am working on chapter 19 of Between the Sun and the Moon. I have been kind of an emotional slump this week and hadn't had the motivation to write. Now, I have prided myself on holding to a weekly Friday release schedule, but I think I'll have to break that trend this week. Given the state of the world right now (as I'm sure all of

    A Serious Question

    I'll keep this brief:

So I've been getting a lot of great feedback on the earlier chapters of Between the Sun and the Moon, and i want to address some of the criticisms that i have received. However, to do the revision work that I'd like to do, i would not be able to keep up with my weekly release schedule.

    Thank You All!

    Dear Readers,

I can't truly tell all of you how greatful I am for all the support on "Between the Sun and the Moon." Over the past month, this story has experienced the most growth out of any of the other stories that I have posted here on this site. BtSatM now has the most likes out of all of my stories, and the most views one month after publishing.

    Next Chapter Coming Tomorrow!

Holy brand new release schedule Batman!

That's right, for the first time ever, I'll be using a release schedule for one of my stories. As of right now, i will be posting a new chapter every Friday around 7pm (time of day subject to change). Im taking some advice from my hero: Adam Savage, and implementing some of his time management techniques. Deadlines, HOOOOOOO!

    Concerns with Memory Lock

Arguably the better of the two stories I have posted here, Memory Lock is my own personal brain child. The story has been thought out on countless notebook paper, and copious amounts of crumpled notes sitting in a recycling center somewhere. However, no matter how much I love this project, I am not happy with it. It is poor quality. An amateurish piece of jumbled words and sentences. The

Should I keep writing new chapters? Or, should i begin the revision process?

I personally don't believe in revising a released work to make it match what people are saying about it at that moment. Obviously you can write the future chapters to be in line with the advice you have been given, but what's done is done, in my opinion.

You'll never get everyone to like your story. Sure, you can have a story where everyone agrees it is well written, but even then some people will still not have enough interest in the genre to see past a few little nitpicks. And that's okay.

I read the first two chapters of your story and I thought it was a great introduction. Not perfect, by any means, but I think it works well enough to bring those readers into your story who like the genre and the style. Look at your like to dislike ratio; it's not a bad story at all.

I would say the best option is to finish the story, give it a few months, and then review it again to see if you truly told the story you wanted to tell. If not, figure out where you went astray with THIS story and tell a NEW story with different characters and a different plot. Otherwise, if the finished product ends up being pretty close to or exactly what you wanted to say, then don't bother and just move on. You can't nitpick your own writing to death. I am positive that the best writers in the world read their best-selling novels and wish they could have done things differently. But at a certain point, the story becomes more than just your own creation, and you need to take a step back and just let the readers interpret it and enjoy it in their own way. Don't ruin a story with your own insecurities (I'm looking at you, George Lucas).

I actually agree with ya that what's done is done but it also let's people see the evolution of an author as time goes on.

I think you should keep going with that you did its wonderful ♡ not everyone will like a story I see pretty much every person who makes a story rewrite it and then abandon it and I think that's not a good idea... I'd like to see it continued
