Not to step on toes for the style of story. I quite like Fallout's slice of life blogs and will try something like that for a few blogs related to The Line Between Fire and Light while I work on the Sequel. (I'll probably ask about proofreaders/editors later, when I get a little more done.) I'll try mixing these with the Character Blog style entries I've done. And probably little stories too.
Normally they would meet in Twilight's throne room when called, but today they were meeting in one of James' conference rooms at his request. The sky blue walls contrasting with the simulated mahogany table and comfortable gliding chairs made for a nice change of venue.
Mirror Pinkie: Sorry James is taking so long. He's been at the Sorcerer's guild all day.
Starlight: Oh that's alright. It gave us a chance to catch up with you.
Pinkie: Yeah! I haven't seen you in like ... forever!
Mirror Pinkie: *giggles* Yeah, being his personal assistant means I do A LOT of running around. I've been to the Citadel, Seyruun, and San Francisco just this week. Well, mostly this week, San Francisco was wa-a-a-a-a-a-a-ay in the future. But I still got back this week.
Applejack: What's he got you running around for?
James walked in as Applejack spoke, pawing at his hair and retying it.
James: That's actually why I asked you all here. Thank you very much Pinkie, you can stay if you want, you've worked hard enough this week.
Pinkie & Mirror Pinkie: You're welcome. *laughs*
James: *chuckles* Well, I'm sure you recognize these bracelets, they're just like Pinkie's there.
Rarity: It's a lovely gold bracelet, darling, but a little plain.
Rainbow Dash: Wait, is this an Omnitool like Pinkies?
James: Exactly.
Fluttershy: I thought you couldn't just give us things like this.
James: *Shaking his head* Under normal circumstances, yes. But things are hardly normal.
Rainbow Dash: Stop blaming yourself.
James: Just makes keeping in touch on a moment's notice easier. And you're all keyed into my personal network, too. *sigh* And of course, the real reason I brought you all here. I've been walking around Ponyville and Canterlot quite a lot since the battle. The injuries people have suffered because of me ...
Twilight: *winces*
James: ... are simply too many. I've been arranging medical care and magical regeneration to try getting everyone back to normal. Pinkie has been bringing over connections with prosthetic manufacturers to provide them a temporary solution while waiting for regeneration. Would it be alright if I sent a small group to Ponyville to set up a clinic to provide care and facilitate getting everyone back to normal?
Applejack: Shouldn't you be asking the Mayor?
James: I wanted to ask everyone.
Twilight: It should be alright.
James: I'll have a talk with Mayor Mare and get that set up. And thanks for everything. I'll see you girls later.
The room quickly emptied, with James holding Twilight back momentarily.
James: You're a little distracted. Are you alright?
Twilight: ... Yeah, I'm fine.
James: ... Okay. Just know I'm here if you want to talk about anything.
That was significantly longer than I thought it would be.
