Chapter 20 and Afterthoughts · 11:52pm Mar 21st, 2020
Hey all. Just released Chapter 20 of Well, this is new.... I'm really beginning to get a lot more inspiration to write this story now more than ever. I've already begun work on Chapter 21 as I post this but I would not expect it out for another 2-3 weeks at minimum. Despite the global pandemic and shelter in place orders that are no doubt coming to my home state, I expect to only have to work more, not less. I guess I can't complain considering my job security is solid unlike many people around the globe right now. But it also means I have less time to dedicate to writing as I can really only get the energy to do so on my days off. I normally work 4 days a week, 12 hours a day but now its up to 5-6 days a week. Once I get back to my regular work schedule I may be able to push uploads to weekly but for now I can't promise much more than to try for every other week.
In regards to the story itself, I have been quite busy. I'm putting in a lot more effort to take the earlier parts of the story into account when writing this to try and make everything fit. I know I said I wouldn't re-write the story, but I did take some to time to go back through in the last week and revise some areas and add some details where I felt they were lacking. If you're a long time follower of the story, I recommend you read back through and let me know what you think. Feel free to let me know if you see things out of place or contradicting earlier chapters as I can only catch so much. All feedback, positive or negative, is always encouraged and appreciated.
As far as the timeline in this story relating to the show goes, this story was originally written back in early 2014 and was supposed begin early on in season 2. That will not change as I have no intention to retcon this story to start at a later point. At the moment, I'm not 100% sure how I will have the show timeline progress alongside this story considering how far behind it now is. Only two weeks of time have progressed through the first twenty chapters so there hasn't been much of a need to think of it too much. I don't plan on keeping the same lethargic pace for much longer. For now I'm just going to go with the flow and what feels right while taking the canon into account as much as possible. Don't expect me to follow the show to the tee, I enjoy taking creative liberties as you likely have seen. Hope you all enjoyed Chapter 20 and thanks for your support.
