The Master Mev Chapter 5 Notes

None of the following is needed to understand the story. I just want to ramble about the process of coming up with the chapter's events.

The logic went that I wanted Rainbow Dash to admit she was a vampire to the students. I wanted that action to leave a stronger impression on them despite Ocellus' inherent shape-shifting ability beyond what Rainbow can do and Smolder herself having fangs and bat-like wings too.

I set the idea aside and spent some time with daughter that included playing silther.io, and I liked how you can trap the snakes there. That led into me wanting to incorporate something like that feeling into this story as how I would make that stronger impression. So, I came up with the 'snare' and the 'leviathan dread'. It's funny. I thought 'leviathan dread' sounded cool in my head but also familiar, like I've heard that phrase before. If so, I don't know where.

Even though I specifically decided I wanted her to be a snake and don't call her a dragon in the story, one particular dragon is what I had in mind more than any other when I designed her, Shenlong from Dragon Ball Z. I suppose it might not seem like it since she has horns that are not antlers and no hands, but it's true and perhaps most obvious in the tail. Coincidentally, I am playing a game called Dragon City and one of the dragons there is called the Origin Dragon that reminds me a lot of what I had in mind for this idea, so the horns are based off that dragon.

I work hard on all of them and the story in general but seriously, this one required significant effort with staging the whole thing for eight different characters nonetheless. If you at all liked it in any way, a like or comment is deeply appreciated.
