Kobe, Shinies, and Math. · 3:39pm Jan 27th, 2020
These past few weeks have been hard; from being sick to the ear issue, to unreasonable amounts of homework, to needing new glasses, just so little free time.
And then yesterday happened.
Most of you don't know me well, if at all, but I got into math and chose my major because of sports. Mainly basketball. I grew up with it, and I always wanted to be like Kobe, like AI, like Vince, like LBJ (the area/region I'm from), so yesterday's news hit hard.
Kobe was far from just a sports legend, the things he did off the field were incredible. He won an Oscar for his basketball short, but one thing he did that never deserves credit is that he grew as a person and a human being. Sure, he had mistakes, and some pretty bad ones, but he grew to be an incredible person and a family man who inspired millions of people, and most of this generation's athletes. And while I never became the athlete I wanted to be, he, along with others, still inspired me to branch out and take on other things, and to follow the numbers and math.
So, his death, really impacted me in a lot of ways yesterday, and I'm still crying even as I type this. I have no idea how I'll make it through the week, the whole instant is just an unimaginable tragedy, and my heart goes out to everyone involved.
During my free time, I'm hosting shiny raids on Shield -if I'm home- so if you see a raid hosted by Cadenza that is open, check it out, it will likely be a shiny.
No idea when I'll find time to write though, I have 11 hour math days every day this week, will be very rough...
Anyway,
Mamba out.
Not much of a sports person, so I didn't know who Kobe Bryant was until yesterday, but it's always sad when someone so many people look up to passes away.
Not sure what else to say, but I hope you feel better soon.

I need it, this term has been very unkind to me... I do more writing in math than I do in actual writing.
I have 15 proofs to write by tomorrow, probability homework in 3 hours, a math/coding midterm tomorrow, more probability homework tomorrow, and whatever we're doing in Calc 3 (my easiest course, but I literally do all my other homework during it). Lol it's an absolute mess.
