    Another Lonely Year

Yes, another Christmas spent all by myself at home. No friends to go to (their homes aren't in the vicinity), no family members to reach out to, and it's not easy to video chat with my relatives when I never felt the most comfortable living with them in the past.

A Prelude to the Grand Holiday Before the Year Ends

Normally I don't share music related stuffs on here (but I should), but what the super electronic duo, All Hail the Silence, composed of American artists BT (Brian "Wayne" Transeau) and Christian Burns have recently released this wonderful jolly song, Christmas Upon Winter Hill. Nothing can beat Christian's cheery yet emotional voice blended perfectly with Brian's choice of instruments

    Tis my birthday!

A very important date not because it was my birth date, but the (near) end of a heated summer, end of summer vacation, aging year parallel to the golden leaves and breaking winds sliding into my DMs—

I would like to thank SkyeDragon for sending me this wonderful artwork she worked all day to perfect. Gladly appreciated it, sis!

Another Lonely Year · 1:48am Dec 26th, 2019

Yes, another Christmas spent all by myself at home. No friends to go to (their homes aren't in the vicinity), no family members to reach out to, and it's not easy to video chat with my relatives when I never felt the most comfortable living with them in the past.

But hey, I got myself a decent meal, drank some light alcohol (which didn't really work), and got this tiny Christmas tree to shine day and night.

Tried working on an immediate story idea with the Kirins in EQG, but so far it's only silly dialogues (childish profanity) and not much narration (in other words, it's far from done). To make myself look productive, here's the proof of my (lazy) writing. Merry Christmas and enjoy :))):

"So, ya know, Christmas is as usual. My jumpin' little sis causin' a ruckus and skidoodle-skadoodle before the Eve. Next thing ya know the entire livin' room is wiped to the floor, and we gotta start over again."

"I wouldn't disagree with that, especially when Zephyr Breeze works so hard at the hair salon for his big internship. I usually wouldn't say it, but poor thing's only in high school and he's trying to move out already! I usually don't get to see him back home until midnight."

"Erm, Fluttershy? Don't ya mean that is what Zeph has been tellin' yer family that ol' hanky of an excuse, but is actually hookin' up with ladies in pubs?"

"Oh goodness, Applejack! Do you really think so?"

Facepalm. "You're his older sister, ain't ya?"

Mute for about six seconds, Fluttershy averted her friend's gaze and smiled at the camera. "A-anyway! I would let my animals run free in my backyard on Christmas Eve, but not free enough to disobey my commands. If she's available, Sunset and I would hop on Rainbow—"

"Dash?"

A little flustered, Fluttershy politely shook her head. "Rainbow Six Siege."

"Mane Six?"

Applejack slapped her hips. "Alright sugarcube, that was not even half the rotten apple of humor any sane person would chew. Stop interruptin' us if ya want some darn answers!"

"To be fair, you gave us pretty useless information unrelated to what happened during this Christmas."

The country girl now clawed her face. "Fine. This year, Fluttershy and Ah wanted to do something different. It's a common tradition to celebrate the holiday with families and friends, but we wanted to develop and maintain our bond with, erm... some new friends."

"Mhm, indeed! They're a relatively old club called the Kirins, but you don't hear much about them unless you're one of Canterlot High's faculty members who worked here for years."

"Their purpose of formin' this club is, well um, not very clear, if Ah had to be honest. They usually wear a costume with a giant horn as thick as a freakin' moose in the top middle..."

"Howdy y'all!" Applejack openly greeted everyone in the room. "What's with all these wrappers... on walls and the floor?"

Most of the members of the Kirin club exchanged glances with each other. Fluttershy raised her head, only to see someone wrapped around with a rope supported by a hook nailed to the ceiling and another person pulling it from behind.

"Oh, heeeeeey AJ and Fluttershy! Glad to see you're doing swell as ever!"

"Um, Autumn Blaze, don't you think it's a little too dangerous to be hanging like that?" Fluttershy pointed at the swaying fiber, lively as if it was ready to snap. "And why are you taping Christmas wrappers all over the room?"

Nearly turning over midair, Autumn Blaze slid her palm against the material. "It's a synthetic rope, built to last longer than natural ones and with twenty percent extra durability. And to answer your second question, since we got plenty of them in stock anyway, why not put them in good use by decorating this place?"

"That ain't no darn good use if y'all can't use 'em properly!" Applejack exclaimed, her voice rising with irritation. "That makes as much sense as nips on a bull! A tree stump's got more IQ than y'all if y'all don't get back down right this instant!"

Riiiiiing!

Everyone in the room picked up their phones. Mindless of Autumn Blaze (who was no longer supported by her friend) plummeting into the tables below her, Applejack and Fluttershy were keen on where the notifications originated from. Figured much off their hunches, the notification box on their phones enlarged at an alarming rate.

flaring_fernie5anders: Aww, thanks mom! Never knew the day Autumn's parents are a couple of fucking lesbians!

flaring_fernie5anders: Like, damn. You seriously think you're some hot shit cuz you're a non-Kirin member with superpowers. Hop off my dick, pleeeeeeease!

flaring_fernie5anders: Thaaaaaaaanks! ;))

"Jeez, thanks for that, Fern Flare." The country girl's unamused gaze drew attention to the far left side of the room. "Yer a real sweetheart when it comes to being slicker than chicken stool."

xOxOCherryCutiePieOxOx: So is your ugly southern accent

"And there you are, finishin' a sentence without a period. Have ya finished elementary school with a letter E or somethin'?"

Royce Da 6'9": hold on fern, what happened to your dad then?

A roll of scotch tape was launched across the room, knocking one of the guys down on the floor.

flaring_fernie5anders: I was just joking, dumbass.

The downed Kirin held his phone in the air, furiously mashing his screen keyboard.

Royce Da 6'9": jokes can't be funny if you're left with serious questions

flaring_fernie5anders: Well FUCK YOU!

Royce Da 6'9": fuck you TOO

Slowly and cautiously, Fluttershy lifted her face from her phone screen. "Um, guys? Can we please not argue about this right now? We got a holiday to prepare for."

A series of vibrations off Fluttershy's device caused her to shriek and drop it on her shoes.

kalikellykyrie: Um, how 'bout no? Bitch.

Mack_God_072399: FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

kali1kelly2kyrie3: You do realize that you've put your personal information (birthdate) as your username, right?

"So none of them were talking except Autumn Blaze?"

Applejack shrugged at the camera. There was not a single hint of concern written across her freckled face. "They were pretty darn antisocial day in and day out, so Ah reckon all they could do is text strings of messages on phones."

Fluttershy followed with a curt nod. "I think most of them may have been infected with toxic waste chemicals that could have severed their abilities to vocally project themselves, but that's just me." The animal caretaker played with her cherry blossom hair, whispering, "I hope I'm wrong."

"That's quite a wild theory you got there, have you bothered to figure out what's going on with those Kirin guys?"

"No can do, sugarcube." Applejack stuck her palm forward. "Not 'specially when they keep actin' like rotten apples behind their little screens."

“What else did you try to get them prepared?"

"Since we wasted our decorations on walls and floors, Christmas tree burned to the ground, gift boxes full of garlic bread, and LED lights on tyin' up Wallflower Blush..." Deadpanned, Applejack's green pupils exploded. "Why in tarnation is Wallflower Blush tied up with Christmas lights?!"

Everyone in the room exchanged sweaty glances. Autumn Blaze volunteered to speak up. "Okay so, how I thought about it, was that since Christmas originated from the birth of Jesus Christ, someone who is considered as the Lord and Savior of humanity, and got himself crucified as a sacrifice. We can use someone as a crucifix in his honor!"

"Um, so does that mean whoever is crucified on the cross will be doing nothing but watching the rest of us celebrate?" Fluttershy spoke up, sobbing lightly. "Oh dear, that's so cruel..."

"Well, I haven't thought that far ahead..." The talkative Kirin passively snickered.

"But that's morally wrong to exclude someone from the celebration! That's not even how you celebrate Christmas! Not everyone believes in God and all that junk! And why Wallflower Blush out of all people?"

Autumn Blaze looked around the room. "Nobody wanted to volunteer as our Jesus, but it's such an awesome part of the Christmas idea to do so we can't just abandon it."

Vibrations and notification ringtones emitted from everyone's pockets. Applejack and Fluttershy were in no surprise for at least one nasty response.

moonrise-Dullen: And plus, nobody cares about Wallflower Blush enough to say anything about it, so we forcefully brought her over in a trash bag.

With the back of her palm, Fluttershy gently felt her forehead lest of fainting in discomfort. "That's really, really cruel..."

flaring_fernie5anders: Turn around, dumb bitch.

Looking around the room to locate Fern Flare, Fluttershy tilted her head. "Yes, what is it— Wait a minute."

Mack_God_072399: LMFAO SHE ACTUALLY FELL FOR THAT SHIT

xOxOCherryCutiePieOxOx: I'm like soooooo weak from that, like shit ain't even funny

"Alright, y'all know what? Let's practice some carols to sing on Christmas Eve. Ya know, yodelin'? Any songs y'all wanna suggest?"

"Ooh ooh! I know I know!" Autumn Blaze wildly swung her arm in all directions. "How about Jingle Bells?"

"Ah don't think ya need to practice for that one. Everybody in the entire world knows the lyrics to it."

"Noo, I meant this one." Autumn Blaze turned her phone's volume to its maximum. ”Siri, play Jingle Bells 2015 Christmas cover song."

For a reasonable number of seconds, the Kirin club's apartment room was empty with pure silence until Siri unintentionally corrected what Autumn was looking for.

"Do you mean: Coffin Fuck - Jingle Bells (2015 Death Metal Christmas Cover Song)?"

"Yup! That's the one—" only to have her phone snatched by an enraged Applejack, who was also quite flustered with the Kirins' thought processes.

From the corner of the room, a helpless Wallflower Blush wriggled around, only to spin a full circle. Like a preyed fish bouncing its flesh off the land, she was in for the worst to come. Judgment Day waits for no one as a flicker of the LED lights wrapped around the gardener shone her the one-way ticket...

"What in the world is that Christmas song? Is it even appropriate?"

"Look hon', I don't know, and I don't care. But these guys don't know the essence of Christmas at all! They care too much about the stuck up details that make up for the holiday rather than what they should feel in their hearts! If Autumn Blaze or any one of them had an idea, it would die of loneliness!"

"That's crueler than what they've done to Wallflower..."

Applejack turned her head to stare down at a whimpering Fluttershy. "Are you still on that darn orange cider, sugarcube? Get over it!"

"That's quite bizarre, really. How could they not know what this worldwide famous holiday is?"

The two friends sucked their teeth as they faced each other. "We got some good ol' proof for that..."

"So if this Christmas thing doesn't work out, can we have a backup plan to the movie theater to watch Frozen II? Ooh ooh! How about Spies In Disguise? Maybe you don't like computer-animations, maybe something more realistic? How about The Lighthouse? That's a psychological horror film that will get your butts to the edge of your seats—"

"We are not gonna blow this Christmas party up, and we definitely won't go watch a horror movie filled with mind games between weird old men stuck on a freakin' island!" Shouted Applejack, leaving a timid Autumn Blaze scuttling behind Fluttershy on the sidewalk.

"But Rain Shine's already got the tickets."

"She WHAT?!" Pinning her to a street pole, Applejack furiously shook Autumn Blaze back and forth. "Tell your leader to get a gosh darn refund! We didn't agree to any of this!"

"Yeah, but like... We don't even know what Christmas is..."

"What in tarnation—"

"But didn't you all agree to prepare for Christmas, we assumed you knew what it was," Fluttershy interjected, "does the word 'Christmas' mean nothing to you all?"

Autumn Blaze puckered her lips, a tinge of guilt evident on her reddening cheeks. "Well you see... we normally don't pay attention to what other people talk about, so we don't bother doing extra research on what they say... so yeah."

"'So yeah'. 'So yeah' huh? Once I'm done with you I'll get every last member of your ridiculous club—"

"Like Ah've been sayin', they're always stuck up on their phones they don't know what the real world's like." She then sighed to herself. "Such a freakin' headache to deal with 'em, honestly..."

"Gifts weren't successful, decorations weren't successful, carols weren't successful. The only way to fix this entire mess is to get down to the root of the problem," said an enthusiastic Fluttershy, "we know now why they don't know much about Christmas, but there are means to comfort them and have them finish with a happy new year."

Applejack irresistibly smirked at her best friend's resolution. "Darn tootin', Fluttershy was the one who sought out the best way to approach them and walk in their muddy shoes."

"So how did you do it then?"

Fluttershy grinned. "Easy, get to know their struggles on a personal level."

Nay, hardly actually. I barely write stuff and only following one story (completely abandoned the Austraeoh series due to a lack of motivation and emotional problems reading/feeling the marathon of a journey). I've been on too many hobbies and it's splitting my concentration apart :(
