A Prelude to the Grand Holiday Before the Year Ends · 10:32pm Dec 19th, 2018
Normally I don't share music related stuffs on here (but I should), but what the super electronic duo, All Hail the Silence, composed of American artists BT (Brian "Wayne" Transeau) and Christian Burns have recently released this wonderful jolly song, Christmas Upon Winter Hill. Nothing can beat Christian's cheery yet emotional voice blended perfectly with Brian's choice of instruments rocking in the background.
The lyrics move the ears as well, it's a melodramatic story about the wonderful moments can only be replicated during Christmas. While rejoicing life as time flies by, it's only the zeal for those memories to happen again. And what's so relevant about this song to our fandom, as our G4 icons are about to end by next year, we look back throughout the entire 2010s decade full of talented writers, musicians, artists, YouTubers who have enriched the values we uphold being part of the Brony fandom. We will long for the memories of these ponies as they join the rest of the cartoon shows that defined this decade (Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, etc).
And for me, the song elicits a feeling of loneliness and sorrow. As an immigrant whose motherland never had Christmas in the past (some people celebrate it now, but it hasn't spread to everyone), it feels awkwardly painful to not have any family to visit nor anything to actually celebrate for here in the States. Of course, Christmas can be celebrated anyway one pleases to, but it really sucks to not hold anything deeper in value beyond that.
Anyhow, enjoy the song. Be sure to follow these geniuses!
