My Episode Review on Cookoo Cavaliers · 9:36pm Nov 22nd, 2019

Aloha, my good friends.

This is your friendly film, TV show, and episode reporter here with another review.

And today, I'll be making my debut on reviewing shorts that star one of my favorite comedy troupes of all-time, the Three Stooges, by reviewing "Cookoo Cavaliers".

Here's the summary of it:

After their attempt at being fish peddlers goes poorly, the Stooges decide to go into the saloon business and are given ownership of one in Mexico. The only thing is, instead of a saloon, they become owners of a beauty parlor.

Their first customers are a quartet of girls who have come to have their hair bleached, one of them also wanting a mud pack.

Will the Stooges succeed at their new job? Or will it be back to square one for them?

I really must say, this short is literally one of the funniest that Stooge troupe Moe, Larry, and Curly have ever starred in!

Directed by Jules White, and written by Ewart Adamson, the episode doesn't cease to entertain.

The humor of this episode was all-out hilarious. I love how innocent, friendly, and unpredictable the jokes were, even as part of a slapstick comedy. Along with that, everything was executed perfectly and tied together so well. The funniest moment, in my opinion, was when the Stooges were trying to get the dried cement off of the girl's face.

The performances of the cast and their characters were pretty fun too, especially that of the Stooges.

What I really love about the Stooges is that, despite not being the brightest men around, they're undeniably lovable and full of personality. Any joke revolving around them is funny, and there's something about them that's, ironically enough, really human. They know they're dumbbells, but they don't keep themselves from tryingto accomplish a goal or persevering.

The comedic-chops of the trio were definitely as spot-on as ever, and not just that of Curly either. I especially enjoyed seeing Larry share equal screen time instead of letting Curly and Moe have all the fun.

In the end, "Cookoo Cavaliers" was a fun installment of the Three Stooges filmography. Quite frankly even one of their best.

So, I rate "Cookoo Cavaliers" a solid five out of five stars.
