Nightmare #1: The World Out to get Me! · 1:47am Oct 30th, 2019

Hey guys. So, I decided that if I am going to share my MLP-related dreams, I guess I could also share some of the nightmares I have surrounding the series as well. In fact, I had one fairly recently that I wanted to share. But, one of the silver linings is that it had a few "heartwarming" moments. It doesn't start bad at first, but after a little while, everything goes wrong.

So, it started off with me back in high school, on my way to class. I'm guessing this was happening around the end of the school year, because of something that will happen later on. So, the first thing I did was make my way to my locker, and it just so happened that my old high school had both human students... and anthropomorphic pony students.

Yes, several background ponies (or maybe just random palettes of G4 ponies, I don't remember) were in my school along with the regular students. No one seemed bothered by it, though. I knew it was out of the norm, but to avoid drawing attention, I kept to myself.

I made my way to my locker, which happened to be right next to Vinyl Scratch's locker (yes, she was also wearing her signature shades). She was putting books in her locker when she noticed me putting the combination into my locker.

"Hey, [my real name]," she said, "wassup?"

"U-uh..." I stammered, trying to stay casual, "...hey, Vinyl."

As I opened my locker to get the necessary books for class, I just casually conversed with Vinyl for a few seconds before I told her I had to get to class, where she said farewell before slipping on a pair of Bluetooth headphones and cranking up, what I could make out, a deep bass thumping repeatedly as she jolted her head forward in unison.

So, I made my way to the room, but as soon as I walked inside, the environment changed. Everything looked normal at first, but everything turned washed-out, dark, and gloomy. The other thing I noticed was that all my classmates (consisting of both humans and anthro ponies, of course), and my teacher were all glaring at me, like I had done something really terrible to them.

"...[My real name]..." my teacher said, keeping a firm glare, "...how nice of you to join us. Why don't you take your seat?"

She motioned at the one empty desk, which I took. Sitting and looking around, I very quickly felt uncomfortable, which I guess is a natural reaction if everyone seems to be angry at you for no apparent reason. The teacher turned an overhead projector, and slid a transparency onto it. Printed on it was a single word in bold letters: COMMUNITY.

"Now..." my teacher began, starting to slowly pace, "...one of the things we pride ourselves on establishing 'community.' And to uphold our sense of community... what is it that we must constantly strive for?"

"Conformity, obedience, and performance," my classmates all said in a creepy unison.

"Very good, everyone," my teacher said. "And of course, the one who does not answer my question... is always you, [my real name]!"

"Wait, what?" I asked.

"Speaking without permission?" My teacher said. "Only further do you prove my point! And this is one of many points where you fail!"

I felt a jolt shoot through my chest like a knife upon hearing this. "Fail...?"

"That's right..." my teacher said, picking up a piece of paper off her desk, and holding it in front of my face, "...you FAIL!"

It just so happened to be my report card, and it was FILLED with Fs. At this point, I was panicking (remember, I didn't realize it was a dream).

"What?" I said. "B-but... there's gotta be a mistake! There's..."

"You are nothing but a disgrace to our school and our community!" My teacher shouted.

"Get him out of here!" One student said.

"Let's rip off his limbs and set him on fire!" Another student said.

With that, everyone got up from their seats and started approaching me menacingly. I darted out of my chair, knocking over the desk in the process, and dodging my way around the now-aggressive students.

"GET BACK HERE AND PICK THIS DESK UP!" My teacher shouted.

I paid no mind and ran out into the hall, where I tried to navigate the layout of the building, which had changed into very much the Windows 98 maze screensaver, except with a bunch of angry human and anthropomorphic pony students chasing me out of the various branches.

There were some points where I ended up getting ambushed with no way out. I took quite a beating of fists, feet, and hooves, especially in my ribs, and I was bleeding and bruised, too sore to sprint, and not able to find a way out. At one point, there was a girl who had a crush on me back in the day, but I didn't feel the same way about her. And let me tell you, when I found her... she was PISSED to see me.

She did a karate-kick directed at my upper torso, which I attempted to block with my left-hand forearm. However, the kick ended up breaking my arm (in the dream, not in real life), and it hurt like hell. I don't know how breaking a bone actually feels, because I've never had one before, but my subconscious mind made it quite excruciating, like large splinters filling my arm.

Fortunately, it was my left arm, which was a bit better than my other arm, because I am right-handed.

The rest of that stretch of the dream is a blur, but I can recall that it was just some more running around and occasional assault from other students. At some point, however, I managed to hide in an empty locker, and they bypassed me because none of them saw me enter the locker. I had to do everything one-handed, however, because of my broken arm.

Once I was sure it was safe to leave, I opened the locker back up and readied myself to head out, when I heard something else.

"Pst!" came a female voice.

I turned around to see who was trying to get my attention, and when I did, I saw that it was Twilight in an anthropomorphic form. She had on a black tank-top with holes in the back to accommodate her wings, and blue denim short-shorts. She had no shoes, since she had hooves instead of feet, but human hands as well.

"[My real name]," Twilight said, "follow me! I can get you out of here safely!"

At first, I hesitated. I wasn't sure if Twilight was with them or not. I stood there, darting my eyes about, and fidgeting with my fingers nervously.

"Hurry!" Twilight said. "They'll find us both! You have to trust me!"

So, realizing I had no other option (as we happened to hear the angry mob approaching from another branching hall of the maze, I decided to go with her.

"Okay, Twilight," I said. "Get us out of here!"

So, with that, she took my uninjured arm to hold me up, as she noticed I was having trouble walking from my injuries, and opened up another locker. However, on this one, she pressed the back panel of it to reveal a hidden passageway. We squeezed our way through, and Twilight used her magic to close the locker door and false back panel, before we made our way through the hidden corridor.

We came to a stairwell that descended about twenty feet, and after a long stretch of hallway with pipes instead of lockers, we came to a ladder that led up to a surface hatch. Twilight opened it to reveal daylight on the surface. She ascended, and I followed, forced to use my right arm only for climbing, rapidly hopping it up the rungs.

"Okay," Twilight said. "As long as no one sees us, we should be good."

Twilight walked me to her house (why she had a human house in our world, I don't know; that's just how my dream went) and after arriving, she bandaged up my injuries, as well as put my broken arm in a sling. Then she let me lay down on the sofa in the living room, as I had become quite exhausted from all the running.

"You just lay here and let me know if you need anything," Twilight said.

She peered through an opening in the blinds.

"In the meantime, we gotta keep you away from these people," Twilight said.

"I don't get it," I said, "why's everyone so mad with me?"

"Well..." Twilight began, hesitating, "...there was... an incident..."

I asked her what happened, and she told me that there were tipoffs regarding slander of numerous people at the school over misunderstandings. Apparently, everyone at the school was accusing me of defamation, including the faculty, which is, I guess, why my teacher gave me all Fs on my report card. However, I had no memories of this supposed incident.

"Don't worry," Twilight told me, "I know you didn't do anything wrong. You're not a bad person, [my real name]."

"You don't think so?" I asked.

Twilight shook her head. "No. I suspect there's someone trying to ruin your social status, but I have no clue who it could be."

"Ah," I said. "Well, for the meantime, maybe we should just lay low?"

As time went on, we more or less just made small-talk... but at some point in the conversation, Twilight started getting really flirty with me for some reason. She leaned close to me on the sofa, wrapped her arm around me, spoke with narrow eyes, raised eyebrows, and a low, seductive tone, often gently running her fingers over my chest and thighs.

"I feel like we don't hang out enough," Twilight said. "Maybe while your arm heals... I could... keep you here?"

Before I even had a chance to respond, I woke up, and the dream ended. (Damn timing of these dreams!)

I'm not quite sure what the psychology behind this dream was; I've never been in this kind of trouble at school (except for a half-day suspension in junior-high where I was sent home early for a minor physical altercation with another student; don't worry, neither of us sustained injuries, and the law didn't get involved; the matter just came and went. It was a one-time thing that never happened again). And aside from elementary school, I never got bad grades.

So, those issues aside, what do you all think?

Interesting and scary. But Good Thing it was just a Dream. Its all over when you Wake up.

And the Timing, typical for tensing Dreams.
