The first draft of my Blueblood story is done, at 14,966 words! 34 words under the maximum wordcount for Imposing Sovereigns II: Electric Boogaloo!
Me, right now.
Great. Now, I just need to edit it without making it any longer. That should be fine. It's not like I'm a chronic under-writer whose seconds drafts balloon out, or anything.
I mean, theoretically speaking, if you could find a natural break pooint, you could always submit half using one prompt, make the other half a sequel, and submit it using a different prompt...
But you didn't hear it from me.
Looking forward to reading this! Good luck!

Are there likely to be an Imposing Sovereigns III and IV? Because what I just wrote is about 1/3 of the original outline. If I cut the epilogue and farm out a lot of too-fast character development to the other two-thirds of the story, I would have the bones of a trilogy of standalone novelettes. JUST LIKE a certain series of famous and beloved films that I might happen to adore.
And that should save me two or three thousand words in which, to, you know, actually describe things.

Thank you!

You may be better off directing the trilogy without further contest word limits to worry about. (Though Imposing Sovereigns III: New Dynasty has a nice ring to it if G5 is any good...)

As long as that’s fine with you that’d be great!

To be clear, I'm fine with your Episode IV being your entry and the rest of the trilogy being published seperately. Just wanted to be sure that was clear.

That is very clear.
