All good things... · 1:31am Oct 13th, 2019
Welp, it is now officially behind us. Nine years of television, eight years of me being a fan (with more to come, don't worry), and it culminated in tonight.
But it's not the end. Comics are coming (seriously, G1 Transformers are still getting comics made about them and they've been off the air for decades), we apparently have a G4.5 transition movie or something to look forward to, and last but certainly not least, we have the fan-created content.
As has been said many times, the fandom dies with us. I ain't leaving tonight just because the show's done. Sure, we won't get any new content, and that'll sting for a while, but in just a few short months, we'll have the whole show to look back on, just like we all did with Avatar The Last Airbender. Just like Korra, Gravity Falls, the DC Animated Universe, and so many other beloved cartoons. I didn't leave the fandoms of those shows just because they ended. I'm not as involved (and I never have been quite like MLP), but I'm still a fan and that won't change.
So that leaves us, the content creators, in the rather important spot of carrying the torch. The comics are there too, but in the end, a lot of people aren't going to read the comics. Many won't read the fanfics. Many won't watch the fan content project that apparently has gained some steam. But that's fine. That's not gonna stop me. I have you all, my wonderful readers who have helped me grow as a writer and continue to appreciate the stuff I put out.
And that's why I'm not going anywhere. And that's why a lot of us aren't going anywhere. This fandom goes deeper than any show. The show brought us together, but it's on us to keep us together, right? I'm gonna keep reading the fanfics, I'm gonna keep writing, I'm gonna keep working with Truesailorcomet on the audio drama, I ain't hanging up the quill anytime soon.
So, with that in mind, as a show of good faith, allow me to confirm that I am cancelling Even In Other Worlds, and that it is being replaced with something new.
So, coming soon (once I get everything blocked out and the first couple of chapters written)...
The Archmage's Last Bow
Bringing back Nova Shine, Aegis, Twilight, the whole crowd. There will be major differences between this and Worlds, with the most prominent being that the human world will not make an appearance (the EQG world will, but not the human world of Worlds) and that the story will primarily feature ponies and not hoomons. It also will be Nova's finale. He will reach and earn his ending, and the things he's going to experience... well, I won't spoil some of the surprises.
But the important thing was to mark the beginning of a new chapter in the fandom. I hope you'll join me on this journey from start to finish. We're here for each other. As we say goodbye to a show that was a huge part of many of our lives, just remember the fandom isn't over. We're all still here, and all making things for each other. And I am looking forward to the future we make.
Rytex out.
Have a good day!
I was so happy with this bittersweet end, and continue looking forward to the future.

That ending didn't feel bittersweet to me. It felt like the perfect ending for this show. It stuck the landing on its feet, and bowed out with grace and at the top of its game. You can't ask for any more of that.
I know it was a series finale, and while I am in the Awesomeness Withdrawal stage, that will pass and I'll have the entire show to watch over again at my leisure. After all, even though new episodes aren't coming out, the show isn't gone. It's always going to be there for us. I'm gonna borrow a quote from JK Rowling and change it up.
"Whether you come back by fanfics, or fan-art, or reruns, or netflix, or sharing this series with your kids, Equestria will always be there to welcome you home."

Oh i agree with you, not many shows get clear good endings like this and i am happy for it. And i will look upon this in fond memories as i get older.
