Today, 5 years ago, Rainbow Rocks was released in cinemas across the US and Canada. (We Brits had to wait a few months for a TV airing.)

In my opinion, Rainbow Rocks marks the pinnacle of the EqG franchise. True, the other films were good, as were the shorts, but in terms of writing and emotion, acting and music, they simply never bettered Rainbow Rocks.

Approaching 250 Million views for the Fan version of Welcome To The show, with Lyrics, and you can throw a whole bunch of other multimillion view variations as well.

As for Under Our Spell, Im pretty sure thats banned in the harshest regimes?

Time flys fast, I remember when it was just a teaser and the premier feels like yesterday

Is it? I didn't know.

5128992
Indeed. Happy birthday.

5129038
Indeed. As I say above, still the best of EqG in my opinion.

5129049
Agreed. Though some of the shorts are very funny.

5129056
Oh. Well, they're all on YT if you want to catch up.

Nothing stopping it.

RR was great.

I loved watching it, plus introduced excellent characters.

Yes, I personally love Sonata.

And adore Adagio and her cynical attitude.

Aria I suppose is fine.

5129109
Adagio is me on a Monday, and Aria is me on a Tuesday.

Because the only good thing about Tuesday is it isn't Monday.

:rainbowlaugh:

I personally see myself as a Sonata.

I try to just float on the commotion of the ocean.

5129113
Yeah. Sometimes being thick can help.

Note; not calling you thick.

5129115
I prefer to think of Sonata as oblivious.

5129123
Sorta like April Ludgate in Parks and Recreation, if that's a concept.

While Friendship Games will always be my favourite, I can't deny the impact Rainbow Rocks left on the series and how it unquestionably has the best villain redemption story in the franchise.

It steered EqG onto the course it followed to the end.

5129335
Fitting to mark the approximate halfway point of Gen 4. After the mild success (debatable I know) of Equestria Girls, Rainbow Rocks did leave a strong impression.

As a moment in EqG history, its comparable to the second season of Parks and Recreation, a franchise that got off to a similarly poor start but turned itself around in its second chapter.

In my personal view there was some better after when the team understood how to use the characters and setting better but it was the point equestria girls felt better than just a cash grab.
