Last month, we got a new puppy, and she's strange! · 1:47pm Sep 27th, 2019
Our family dog, Lenny, has been gone a while now. Much to my displeasure, everybody else seemed to forget about him almost immediately, and it wasn't even four weeks or so later that we adopted another dog, this time, a ten-month-old husky puppy named Akira. I've heard that huskies have very unique personalities and they do strange things other dogs don't do, but let me tell you, I sincerely find myself to be loving this cute ball of walking fluff and cuteness.hat
I was curious about a few things, to those of you who either own or have owned huskies before, seeing as I've never personally had one. The only thing I know about them is that they are obsessed with chewing literally anything and everything that looks tasty to them. That and that they hardly sit still, but when they do find a place they like to settle down, they tend to lay in the most ridiculous positions possible, sometimes sleeping on their backs. Our dog is no exception.
Akira, she's a bit odd, but that's likely only because she's a puppy still and she hasn't had much time to get used to humans yet. She's settled in quite well, and she's really friendly, and she's a fuss pot, but I was told that she had been in three different homes before she came to us, so I imagine it'll take time for us to completely grow on her. I was wondering what it means, if anything, when huskies make odd howling noises when they jam their heads around the floor and stick their nose in any little crevice they can find. Akira was doing that earlier today in the summer house, and she was just all over the place!
She will roll about on the couch, constantly switch positions, stretch out, flop to the side, or when she lays down on the floor, she stretches out her hind legs and she allows herself to slide into position. It's adorable in its own way, but I honestly don't know if any of this is even, well, normal or even typical for a husky. She's also obsessed with trying to shove herself into small places, like under my brother's bed, where she lays for ages. She'll lay on her back while she's pressed against the wall at the front door of the house, becoming an effective and adorable, fluffy doorstopper, or she'll do it at the bottom of the stairs.
So, do any of you husky owners out there deal with this type of behaviour on a daily basis, or is this puppy pushing her adorable streak through the roof?

Never call your pet strange.

She's strange, fluffy and adorable. In my books, that's a perfect three! 🐕
