... I, SOMBRA, the shapeshifting master of darkness, unleashed an UNSPEAKABLE EVIL. But two foolish Princesses wielding the Elements of Harmony stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time, and trapped the Crystal Empire, until my rule was law again! Now six fools have returned to this land to UNDO THE FUTURE THAT IS SOMBRA.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks about this. The guy's design was just screaming for it, after all.
