In the midst of all this, some good news. · 8:30pm Sep 6th, 2019
I passed my IFM exam! Candidate Number 36648!
Well, this spares me another month and half of studying and another $400 or so to retake the darned thing. Better chances of getting through with my applications this time around, too. I'm taking the day off today.
It's not the same sense of victory I had when I passed the first two exams, having been hung out to dry for 8 weeks before I found out, but maybe it's just because I really wasn't expecting a passing result. Or maybe I'm just underslept.
That's great things are looking up
Nice! Not bad dude.
Congratulations! That's really great.

I hope so. Gotta keep trucking, anyway.

Thanks! Hey, I've observed that you've been playing Skyrim a bit lately. Enjoying yourself? Been playing some Ys Origin between study sessions myself, as you might've seen.

Thank you, NineCaliber! It's quite a relief. Only three more exams to pass before the only thing that stands before me and my Associate's designation is the set of online modules.

Yeah I've been playing my favorite game Skyrim a lot lately and yeah it's been really nice to play it and video games in general again, since I've arrived back home from rehab in late August. I've just been continuing the campaign I had going before I went to rehab back in May, my sneak-archer female Khajiit campaign. I'm level 33 now and I've completed about half the quests or so I think (though the Skyrim on my PC has more than double the amount of quests than the original vanilla game with all the crazy amount of mods I have installed which I'm sure I've mentioned before XD) so I still have a long way to go. Despite technically 4000+ hours in the game, I've actually only beat the main quest once in my first campaign despite I think this being maybe my 7th or 8th campaign now? I plan on beating the main quest this time around for sure. I'm still playing now, though my internet router has been messed up the last few days and needs to be replaced so you haven't seen me on Steam this week. I've been playing offline though.
But yeah I did see you playing Ys Origin last weekend I believe the last time my internet was working on my computer. I've never heard of that game. What's it about?

I remember beating it after completing mostly everything else. Other than that one piece of music that plays at Sovngarde, I didn't find it all that spectacular, to be honest. Since I was so strong at the end, too, Alduin remained such a pushover that the gravity (or what was left of it in mind) of the main quest was totally lost on me.
Ys Origin was recommended to me by a friend. It's a prequel game that precedes the events of all other games in the Ys series of games. You start out as one of two characters who has a mission to climb up this tower full of demons before the world ends. The tower will pull this holy floating continent if it's not stopped. The plot is a little convoluted and tricky to explain because parts of it vary greatly depending on who you play as. In addition, there's a third player character who's unlocked once you beat the game with one of the original two. His story is actually the true timeline. I personally find the Nightmare difficulty of the game challenging. Decent soundtrack. The script writing isn't great; the characters come across as verbose at times and then will just randomly swear. I think there was only one translator.
But it's a series apparently known for great worldbuilding, or at least, that's the person who convinced me to get it told me. I'm not sure if I'll play the rest of the games, to be honest, but I found Ys Origin pretty good. Not something I'd say is worth getting when it's not on sale, but it holds its own for a game made in 2006.
Ah nice that sounds like a game right up your alley. For 3006 yeah that’s pretty impressive. I don’t think I’ve ever played a game like that XD.
I also recently was given a Nintendo 3DS by a friend for free which is nice so I’m also playing Legend if Zelda: Ocarina of Time on it at the same time wherever I have the time. It’s pretty cool being able to keep a little game world in my pocket I have to admit. The graphics are also way better than the Nintendo 64 despite its size since the 3DS is from 2011 and the N64 version is from 1998 XD. It’s prwtry cool, albeit a somewhat challenging game at times. I like it a lot though.
2006* lol

The actual play of the game reminds me of Castle Crashers. Not exactly up my alley, but it was change of pace, at least. I've been left feeling like either moving on to Dark Souls or going back to playing Narodnaya Solyanka (STALKER mod), but I haven't done either just yet.
I've not played any of the Legend of Zelda games, I'm afraid, and I've heard Ocarina of Time is a real masterpiece. I'd love to play it sometime just to see what I missed out on, but I only have a regular DS. I haven't used it in years. I wonder if it'd still function.
