Scribe of the Nightwings

I am but a simple scribe. I write stories of the Nightwings, and how a purple alicorn and her friends led them to freedom. LOXALAS!

    Artwork of Astral and Luna

PixTheMallow on Twitter was doing a YCH commission, so I thought I would get one with Astral and Luna that I think coincides well with Admiration and Admission. Idk, I thought it turned out pretty cute!

    Update Time!

So....admittedly it has been awhile since I last posted/updated a story. There were a few distractions here and there:
    1. Grad school: Turns out graduate school is especially difficult when over half of your classes are online and any communications with your professors is relegated to just emails.

    Announcement

So...yeah. Things kinda blew up, didn't they? :twilightblush:

First of all, I'd like to welcome the dozen or more of ya'll that decided to follow me after Interruption and Intervention went (semi) popular. Hope you can all stick around for what's to come!

Introducing Astral Ink · 9:21pm Aug 19th, 2019

Thought I would finally take the time to create my own pony OC.
Astral Ink, The Scribe of the Nightwings

Commissioned by the very talented HoodwinkedTales.
Personally wise, he very scholarly. Quiet, reserved, distant but not cold. He's always looks for the pursuit of knowledge and is more than happy to have academic discussions with like minded individuals. He does have a dry sense of humor and won't shy away from giving a soft smirk from time to time.

Overall, I'm very happy with how this turned out and hopefully others agree too.

Amazing! I really like the design and the little detail of the bookcover :3

Yeah, my favorite aspect is with the cutiemark, because it kinda looks like the galaxy swirl is the ink that the quill is dipped into to write, thereby connecting to the name Astral Ink! :raritystarry:
You don't think that the design is too basic, right? I didn't want it to be too over-the-top, but I at least wanted it to be memorable.

5108709 I thought it was cool too a small little detail that makes his design and name amazingly close and cool ^^

Nah, I think it's better to have a simple design that can say what your character is like than an over the top mess that just complicates stuff :3

Plus those glasses are really cute ^w^

Well, thank you kindly. I must say that tiger hoodie is absolutely adorable as well. :ajsmug:

Would you be interested in having him make an appearance in my story? I'm looking for some new OCs to serve in some... political roles and Astral Ink seems perfect for the role of Councilor of Magic and Mystery

Hmm, interesting. I've checked over some of your work, and it looks like your pretty good. What story would you like to use him in? And how big of a role would it be?

5114489
No real plans right now, but he would appear in my main story "The Story Retold" (I know, not a very interesting title) where he, along with eleven others, would be elected to comprise the Council of Equestria, a ruling body second only to Celestia, Luna and Sombra (who is Celestia's husband in my story)

Astral ink would be elected as the Councilor of Magic and Mystery, in charge of the nation's magical research, experimentation, crises, etc.

Hmm, that does seem to fit the character's interests pretty well, if I do say so myself. I think I might be interested. Now I do have to ask about his alignment here. Would you say that he would be good, neutral or are we dealing with a Chancellor Neighsay here?

5114756
I haven't fully figured out the Council; I do have some characters in mind to fill certain roles in it

Like I said, Astral ink would do well as the Councilor of Magic and Mystery. The council is something like a president's cabinet of secretaries, where each member oversees certain matters, like the military, foreign affairs, economy, agriculture, etc.

Right now I have characters in mind to be the councilors of Science and Innovation, Business and Commerce, and Law and Order respectively

With Astral, that would bring me up to four

5114856
Hmm...Alright. That sounds good with me. You have my permission. Once you've figured out more details, feel free to PM me about it so that I can see for myself. Thanks for going ahead and asking permission first btw.

Did you draw it yourself or did you use an online pony creator? Either way it looks great

5213533
Actually, I had it commissioned by HoodwinkedTales.
And yeah, I'm really satisfied by how well it turned out. It's been especially useful to give as a reference whenever I commission other art pieces of him fro other talented artists.

Aaaand he gets a follower

Thanks for lettin' me know :D

Glad I could help! His artwork definitely deserves more attention with that amount of quality. :raritystarry:
