Stupid Unicorn artist survey results · 2:13am Jul 18th, 2019

On June 5 I posted a survey: Stupid Unicorn: Help Me Choose an Artist!  Present Perfect asked about the results, so I copy-pasted them from the Google Forms summary page.

(The Stupid Unicorn kickstarter has been up for about 7 hours now, and only 2 people have made a kickstarter pledge. This is versus 10 people who said they'd buy the book a week ago after that survey was up for that amount of time.)

The first questions asked you to rank each of 9 illustrations from 1 to 9, where 9 is best (first place).
The bars aren't all drawn to the same scale, so you have to compare numbers between artists, not bar length.
In Duane Leslie's results, you see above the 9 that he was ranked first (given the response 9) by 7 people, ranked second by 6, and so on.

Here are rankings of the top 6. (I don't want to post rankings below that.) Some of the results were very bimodal, like Little Tigress, whom most people ranked 2nd, 4th, or 8th out of 9.

Well, that's people for ya. It's much easier to say you'll buy something than to actually, well, buy something. Though I wonder if price is a factor; it's 11 bucks for those of us who aren't going to Bronycon, and it looks like (depending on whether the book is 7.5" or 8.5", which I don't see listed), only 7-14 people said they'd buy at that price.

(That said, the reason I haven't ordered yet is because I don't know if I want one or two yet )

Oh. It's 7.5" x 7.5". Turns out that's the only nearly-square size eligible for distribution on Amazon.

I mean, 24 hours is not much time for something like this, you'll need to give people a few days. Especially if there's stuff like Trotcon happening. They might've just not checked their feed yet.

5090626 I admit that I haven't checked my feed in... 2 months. Sigh. I was working on the books. Did almost nothing but write, eat, sleep, and exercise for 2 months.
