Looking at my ID makes me feel old. There are a whole lot more people on this site than 3622 now. Soon we will be able to pool our resources and bail out Greece or something. Lol jokes. Greece is set to become our live experiment for why anarchy is the most retarded ideology known to man.
And what have I got to show for my one year wait, I mean two years? Nothing! A Two year(s) with nothing to show for it. I'm so unproductive.
I had this crazy idea to show you guys the very first draft for my first pony fic ever, but I got a page in and almost deleted the doc. I persevered, though (Black Label helped), and while my dignity prevents me from posting the entire thing, let me show you one of the more... uh... interesting paragraphs (completely unedited, btw):
“Yes, I have been unsuccessful in my efforts to repeat the performance that, with your help, managed to get ponies here to like me.” The Princess’ formal tone slowly slipped away to one of despair. “The ponies in Canterlot do not respect me, worse still; they fear me, unable to forgive. I can no longer stay in that place, I do not feel welcome, yet I know that if I leave my sister will be heartbroken. Please help me Twilight Sparkle.” Luna finished softly, a tear running down her cheek.
A single tear! Luna weeps a single tear! I legitimately thought that was a good idea.
Now, I can make fun of myself just as well as the next guy (I mean, considering my love affair with MLP and my generally accepted social stereotype, acknowledging myself as "the gay one" almost seems mundane now (did you know that this one time some people saw me like pony stuff on Facebook, only for them to post a poll asking which would be gayer: If I watched MLP or gay porn? (Spoiler, MLP won))), but even I can't post the rest of that story.
So, do I have any cool announcements for this most prestigious of dates? Nope! I am hitting my head on my desk waiting for cover art and exams have stalled any other ideas. So please don't hate me. I swear it's all out of my control :(
Oh hey, Background Pony finished. I should probably finish reading that. It's funny how you can stop for like a month or so, and when you go back there is over 150k words of new stuff. That's an entire novel's worth! D:
And new season tomorrow! Cool! I get to watch it while wringing my hands like a nervous wreck praying canon doesn't nuke my adventure. =/ Seriously, though, I am wishing for good things from this episode, so hopefully it doesn't disappoint. Rest assured, you probably will hear about it if it does (and I apologise in advance).
Ah well. I'm done. I am so sorry for the load of verbal diarrhoea above. Stay tuned; I swear I am on the precipice of cool things happening (JUST like I have been for the past four months).

As a show of solidarity, perhaps I could share a excerpt from my first attempt at pony words for everyone to laugh at:
Yeah, it's basically the another "hey, Luna, you shouldn't feel so bad because these days we have astronomy" scene between Twilight and Luna. It was supposed to be an adventure story not shipping but it did involve Twilight and Luna working together and building up mutual respect so I dubbed it my not-Twiluna fic.
There was totally going to be a slumber party involving the princesses at the end of the fic. It would have been super awkward for all the non-royalty involved (except Pinkie, who I just can't imagine feeling awkward about anything).

I dunno about you, but it's the kinda thing where I just sit back and go, "What was I thinking?! D:" By comparison, the last thing I wrote was a scene where a dying Twilight traverses a deserted city deep under the earth only to come across Death on the river Styx. Only a year has passed since writing the excerpt in the blog, so the difference is kinda mind-boggling... At least conceptually, that is.

22 weeks for m'self, so i've only been here roughly 6 months. although, i was lurking without an account for about a month before that...
still haven't published any fics though. i've written a lot, but i always get 4 pages in, then run out of steam and move on. sucks too, i've got some ideas i'd really love to publish, i'm just too much of a procrastinating loser to finish them. then new episodes change the canon and i have to re-write stuff so that it makes sense... one of my earliest (and favorite) ideas was completely destroyed by the episode Luna Eclipsed.
492221 Yeah, it's the bit just after getting started that's always the hardest. I find that once you push through that barrier it gets a lot easier. As for the canon, it's why I stay as far away from it as possible, haha. I just hope that the show doesn't touch upon a lot of the old history and I'm normally fine!

yeah.... unfortunately most of my ideas involve Luna or Twilight so..... i'm a slave to the canon.
on the bright side, the S3 premier actually gave me a way to integrate my latest attempt into canon in a fairly seamless way. perhaps by next week i'll finally be able to publish my first fic.
ugh, half the problem is that there's so much good stuff to read already out there, i have trouble peeling my eyes away from other peoples' stories to write my own!
