    MLP G5 Movie - A quick review

    So

    It has begun.

Ending an era fully now we move on to the next.

And ya know what? Is a good movie. Very pretty, good details, cute characters, got some good laughs out of me and had me intrigued. Only one song really stood out to me, but none of them were bad.

    Return of Valhalla

Okay, I need to ramble a bit. Yesterday I was all nostalgic about Peter Madsen's works - more specifically his Danish comic series “Valhalla” that I grew up on. My Dad always been an enthusiast about our heritage as Danes, in particular the old stories and Myths about the old Nordic gods. And one faved medium to teach us these stories were through those comics, as the cartoonist behind them

Going to Seed - Episode Reaction · 12:36pm Jun 2nd, 2019

Dang, more and more spoilers are slipping out all over from the early releases outside the US. And here I sit still watching by American schedule, while being a foreigner, because of the sources I rely on. Oh well, I can only keep on doing my best to avoid spoilers as usual.

Let’s see what this week’s episode got in store for us.

Ho dang, starting on an absolutely beautiful shot there.

Aww, even the dog gets to start the day with pancakes!

Dang, Big Mac. Big mood. Same with Applebloom.

Oh gosh, she’s BACK!! Release the kitties!!

Oh, I dig that magical earth spirit design. A bit much yet quite nice. Reminds me of the pokemon deer thing that changes colour depending on what season you try to catch it.

For some reason I’m getting flashbacks to the Sassquats comic.,

Themesong *ding*

Recapping everything we were just told.

Heh, kitchen sink kitty.

Cheeta on catnip... I need to look that up later to see if that was ever actually tried.

Opening shot so nice they used it twice. I ain’t complaining.

Calling it, Big Mac is sleep walking and Golden Delicious is just being set up to look like the culprit ‘cuz conflict. Still she DOES act like she thinks she gaining something by keep encouraging Applebloom to go on Seedling hunt while stressing out Big Mac and Applejack due to the heavy work left undone by the constant rescheduling.

Of course the old mares just see this as encouraging the youngest child to have fun and believe in wonders while still a little child.

Dat’s racist, Granny Smith.

A fair compromise.

Aww, he’ll grow into it.

Oh gosh, baby Applebloom!

Oh Winona.

Aww, this is cute. They manage to both get work done and having fun with the traps as agreed. Afraid Applejack would keep worsen the conflict as she might have in the past.

Oh gosh, all those smile faces this episode.

I’m chuckling at this switch in who wanna put all effort into catching the seedling now and who wanna remember to focus on work too, heh.

Poor Big Mac, I’m feeling ya.... Gosh this I’m feeling a lot. Kind of same at my own work.

Feeling even more with Big Mac, I too hate when a schedule goes off track. Just staring at the same thing as if you can will it back into proper order that way.

Oh gosh, dat sleep face!!

OoOOOOooh...

AHAHAHAA! Okay, I did indeed think that was Big Mac, just unsure how he pulled that look off in the dark. The reveal still hilarious to me though.

Kitty bag.

Cute episode as expected. Glad it wasn’t the usual of AJ stacking up the conflict with her stubborn focus on work like in the past. While still keeping true that she has a tendency of getting carried away once stirred into any certain direction she gets convicted of. I like they gave it focus on how both she and Applebloom managed to balance both work and fun together for cute sisterly bonding scenes.

Sadly at the cost of poor Big Mac. Feeling ya, big guy. Once again he’s left out of the sibling bonding too, to let him take the heavy haul.

Still, it ended with everypony having a smile, AJ and Bloom can continue their hunt with the big harvest being over. I’m glad they indeed DIDN’T reveal the Seedling to be real or not. Was kind of afraid the show would go “full win” on this one, but glad they left a legend to be an unconfirmed legend still.

Big Mac better get something in reward for all the extra work he done on all this, dang. He didn’t even get a hug from Golden Delicious in her goodbye...

Anyway, cute episode that managed to keep everypony in character while not repeating past vices as one would expect. Nice.

Thanks for reading.
