Journal Entry - Volume 2 - Chapter 8 · 2:40am May 26th, 2019
Dear Journal,
The ride back to the hideout was a blur! But somehow I made it back in time! Mythic Honor used the tendril the Marquis gave me to make some kind of medicine. Ember drank it and in a few minutes time, woke up! I remember her getting up… but not much more. Considering the day I had, I probably just passed out from fatigue or something.
Early the next morning I awoke a bit woozy, but able to sit up. It was then that I felt something… different on my back. Turning my head, I found Ember snuggled up to me! Admittedly, not what I was expecting from her! She was acting a lot more… uh… feminine, I guess. Never woke up next to a girl before…
She told me Mythic Honor was waiting for me at the Town Hall with new armor. As I left, Ember asked me to meet her on a nearby hill when I was done. Nodding, I proceeded to Mythic Honor’s workshop. Inside was the most amazing looking armor I had ever seen! I mean, I could just FEEL the awesomeness in it! Even before I put it on! He warned me about some kind of duel to test my worthiness. I’ll write about it when I get back!
Wow… did not see that coming! So… um… journal, I um… guess I’m kinda… engaged now. This is really… awkward. I beat Ember in our duel and now apparently she thinks I’m worthy to be her mate! The look on her face when I told her I wouldn’t live long enough to do so… as weird as the whole thing was, it was heart wrenching! On the up side, it did allow me to assert my dominance over the stronger demons nearby! Ember suggested that we march to the capital together and take down the king! I guess she figures if you’re going to be in jail, might as well be the one on top! While that is tempting… I don’t want power. All I want is a nice quiet life with my friends.
Who knows… maybe one day I’ll see the sun again!
Use what you have to protect others! Not to get what you want at other’s expense.
