Busy. So very, very, VERY busy. · 5:51pm May 24th, 2019
So, you guys may have been wondering why there has been zero updates or published stories for anything I've promised, or co-written. And, to be blunt, I've been very busy. But I've not been the only one.
In the last two weeks alone:
I've had to write a script multiple times because, for a group project, no one else will and they don't like it once it is complete, which means complete re-writes.
I've had to write a short story for writing class multiple times because the school computers don't know how to save and not crash.
I've had Calculus 4 homework four times a week, along with both a quiz and a massive midterm (which I failed because I had no time to study).
I've had proofs homework, which is essentially a page per single problem. And we get ten problems each week. Some are simple, some aren't.
I also need a new laptop, case in point, why I've been at the school. The only thing my current laptop is good for is reading (which I've had very little time to do) and watching anime (which I've had zero time to do).
In the upcoming week, I have to write the script again but this will be my last time because I am not fucking doing it another. And I have to edit the short story, while writing a paper to go along with it. It's about a moment that modified how I view writing, and shaped how I create story ideas. I fixed a lot of issues with my writing in working on that, and through the corrects I need to make, hopefully I'll fix even more. Both those need to be done by Tuesday (along with 11 proof problems and what ever bullshit I get later today in Calc 4).
I have finals coming up shortly as well, so that will also be a thing.
Which leads to the spring and summer. I will be in school those weeks, but hopefully I'll have a new laptop as well which means I'll be able to write more and have more free time to work on stuff for here.
However, those two summer classes are going to take up a LOT of time. I'll be taking Writing 300, which is an editing course, and Writing 460, which is what will eat up a lot. My current writing teacher will also be teaching that class, and she basically broke down what that class will be. Essentially, I have to write about 5 - 10 chapters (depending on length), of a novel. Around 100 or so pages. And I will have six weeks to do it.
Put it all together, I will have a ton of writing in a very short amount of time. While that means I won't get a lot of time to work on stuff here, though, once the class is done I could take a week and modify everything to turn it into something that can be posted on here it does mean that I will get a lot better very quickly.
Hell, based off the reception I had off the short story I wrote, the only real issues I had were reactions paired with stage directions when there are sections of long dialogue. Granted, the thing was only 1.6k words, but believe me when I say I managed to remove a TON of issues.
The one thing though, that I am disappointed about, is that I still have an entire one-shot fimfic hand written just needing to be typed. And I simply don't have the time to do so.
Either way, stay tuned and go Browns!
That's an awful lot of stuff to be doing Calculus is the worst, as far as I'm concerned--mathematical proofs might be longer problems, but they've always meant more to me than most of the computational stuff that seemed so prevalent in calculus.
Best of luck with finals, hope everything goes as well as it can

I can't lie, it has been rough. Proofs just takes up a ton of time to write everything. I need to spend a lot of time writing this weekend, which hopefully I do... cause I need to. I really, really, need to.
