Blow struck to the parasites of the gaming industry - publishers

In the name of truth and liberty!

I'm proud of PC gamers showing what gaming really is, not just buying proprietary console software and being happy to get a scrap of a good game once in a while. Despite all the automaton sympathizers and bug lovers defending their corporate daddy, we have finally won a battle in the long and losing war of game quality.

    Does anyone play Darktide?

Just curious, does anyone here play Darktide? My group kinda dissolved and it's not as fun when playing solo anymore.

    What started the drone-centric stories

Nothing interesting this time, just two pictures that sparked my idea about hive drones in general. We haven't reached the chill Chrysalis stage yet, but who knows how things will be by book 12 or something. Anyway, the cover I made for They're Everywhere is based on pic 2, but no matter how I tried making pixelart with the right kind of feel for books 2 and 3, it kinda sucked so I stuck to

Good luck, everyone, going into 2024

So, I've been sitting in front of the screen for the good part of fifteen minutes, figuring out what to say for the now usual end of the year recap, and I've got nothing. Much like any time I try to push On Holiday forward, the empty page just laughs at me.

Overall power rankings - top 5 · 10:54am May 22nd, 2019

I'm about halfway done through the penultimate chapter of HoCK, and it's a lazy day at work, so while I'm figuring out how to make Eleven stalk Battlecry in the evening (See? Spoiler, teaser, and a list at the same time. Twilight would be proud.) for the next scene, I thought I could waste your time with some sauce regarding the Nameless Library characters. Last time, I did changelings and changeling-like entities, this time I'm going for top 5 overall. Of course, since 1 of the entities is full god Nightmare (kinda omnipotent, so not worth detailed explanation), and 1 is already mentioned Horatio Cross, it will be more a top 7. I'll be ignoring the three split gods - Discord, Harmony, Nightmare, due to reasons of clutter and their power fluctuating heavily through the ages. So, here goes:

1) True God Nightmare (I guess this spoils who wins the war of the three gods, but hey, what can you do?)
- Pretty much omnipotent within the bounds of the plane of reality, and nearly omniscient (nearly meaning that she knows everything, but isn't aware of everything at once). God bearing the full power of creation, existence, and destruction. Surprisingly, not as evil as she sounds, mostly due to the influence of Discord's part of the absolute trinity of power (chaos, creation).
Likes: Enthropy, laughing at mortals struggling against horrible fate
Dislikes: Mushrooms.

2) Flow (The bad guy from the final story can't be some pushover, can he?)
- Either a Corrupted, or a heavily tainted equine. Dark blue, hairless, with bright blue eyes on black sclera (Think something along that cool-ass effect of Lich King's eyes inside his helmet). Has some connection with the void (Don't mistake with Endless Void, the primal alicorn of Death), the emptiness between planes of reality where nothing can exist, and where even divine power gets slowly dispersed until the divine entity dies (think like gas spreading in space). Somehow, Flow can survive there even without any apparent divinity, and can seemingly open holes to the void in the real world, manifesting as slashes in space which can cut through any physical or magical material instantly.
Likes: Who knows?
Dislikes: No idea. Mushrooms, maybe? Screw mushrooms!

3) Void (the alicorn, not the place. The capital V, see?)
- Nightmare's most powerful creation, one of the three primal alicorns, originally meant to kill Discord's alicorn of Life. That indeed DID happen in the end, but for completely different reasons. After screwing Scream for few millennia, he got imprisoned in Tartarus by Sunbutt, something which Scream never forgot, and hatched a plan which almost caused the complete genocide of everything in Equestria. Anyway, Void eventually grew up and figured out the reality of the three gods playing games with everyone without care or respect for suffering. As the caretaker of souls, Void has been hit by loss and pain of every single dead being, and decided that mortals deserve more than being toys, starting an eons-long fight for freedom of the races on Equus. Unfortunately, Harmony's return thanks to Scream and the Cult of the Watcher caused him to take drastic steps to help against the god's return. Neither he nor Scream would see their plan come to fruition.
Likes: Scream, compassion, facing one's own fears.
Dislikes: Gods, mushrooms.

4) Nightshade (Have you ever tried to kill the embodiment of the continent you walk on?
- Physically the strongest creature in existence, and certainly the hardest one to kill. The ultimate Corrupted Queen, one classed as Protector. Originally a Pegasus serving in Twilight Sparkle's Hex Guard, a stroke of bad luckā€¦ and a massive string of unbelievable luck changed her into what she is now. Considering the existence of the horn rot disease, she's the one being with ultimate say in the future of Equestria. She's always wanted to have a Corrupted alicorn at her command, at least until she faced one for the first time. She's yet to learn the limits and full extent of her power, but she might be or become the most powerful being on the face of Equus unless faced with those able to eradicate the planet itself.
Likes: toying with enemies, experimenting with her Corrupted.
Dislikes: sterile, enclosed spaces devoid of any biomass. I want to say mushrooms, but that would be a lie.

5) Horatio Cross (expected another alicorn, did you?).
- The living embodiment of when you try to make the ultimate creature, and actually succeed mostly on accident. Considering that next to Nightshade, he's the only member of the list without divinity, that says all that needs to be said about him.

6) Sunbutt (or less known as Celestia)
- When you can nuke the whole planet by tossing a sun at it, you deserve a spot. Divinity based around healing and fire gives her both excellent offensive and defensive abilities, although the high amount of divinity suppresses her ability to use complex magic, which is something Scream and Luna excel at, unsurprisingly because Scream was Luna's teacher. Knowing her destructive potential, she, just like Void, can't use her full power, because it could turn a whole continent to ash. Unfortunately, at her age, she's seen too much destruction and pain which instilled in her overprotectiveness that can manifest itself in instinctive mistrust and ruthlessness. The new hive members know that full well.
Likes: Cake.
Dislikes: Lack of cake. After getting corrupted for some time, also hates mushrooms.

7) Magnus (Don't mess with an alicorn who is immortal despite losing all divinity, having equalled the divinity of others simply by magic)
- The primal alicorn of Magic, Harmony's most powerful creation. Considering the trick Harmony played to win the war of gods, having surrendered much less of his divinity to Magnus than Nightmare did to Void and Discord did to Faust, the fact that Magnus can go hoof-to-hoof against the other two primals tells tales about his knowledge and magical prowess. His lack of scrupules in pursuit of magic led him close to Void, and upon his pleas he made Scream into the archmage she ended up as, the training she eventually bestowed upon Luna. Of course, after Magnus gave up his divinity so that the other alicorns finally stopped bothering him and he could do some real research, Celestia spent years trying to make her students into one, failing many, many times. Sunset Shimmer got the closest, but Twilight was the one to finally achieve the ascension.
Likes: Blueberry juice, solitude.
Dislikes: Being bothered by others. I'd assume that mushrooms.

Alright, next time I'm doing just mortals, or those with only minor divinity.
