well for one the age of consent is at the lowest 14 in Japan and everywhere else around 16, and the MC is 17 turning 18, which is the age of consent for us in the U.S.A.
also at the most, all you do is cuddle she straight up tells the MC no big things until he graduates so another point for her.

I'd like to point out Joker is likely 16-17 and while America's government has been extremely influenced by Puritans Joker is old enough to know what it is he wants out of life. He is both old and mature enough to decide how he likes or wishes to handle a relationship so long as he does not force himself onto the other.
