There's so much I wanna do, but so little available time I have to do it!
Lemme see... have a good ol' list of things I want to do once school's out for the summer, in no particular order:
- Get back to learning how to program
- Write out the stories I pitched in What If
- Finish Pony-Me and get started on its original fiction adaptation
- Try making a basic TTL CPU design
- Make what would essentially be a multiprocessor Arduino capable of minimal computationally-heavy tasks such as, for example, language processing. This would rely almost entirely on being able to learn C/C++ alongside Java, as the Arduino IDE if I remember correctly, utilizes a C-like programming language. Of course, if I wanted to drive myself crazy, I could try and learn Assembler for the AVR architecture.
- Hardware tinkering! I finally reached goalpost #2 of smooth, full-motion video on a 166MHz CPU using mpeg1 and VideoCD. Goalpost #1 was Minecraft on the thing at any fps. Goalpost #3? Build something usable in 2019 using only hardware about as old as I am. I'm that weird middle area 2000s kid that grew up with 90s tech that my parents had passed down to me from their college years.
- Actually beat the Ender Dragon in Survival for once in Minecraft. (And seriously, as a mainly creative-mode/server player, I've left behind a long trail of abandoned survival worlds where I reached the Nether and nothing beyond that. The world I've been playing on recently might finally change that.)
- Try for the third time at creating a game with my friends. First two times I used the free version of Gamemaker: Studio since I really didn't know much of how to program. This time around I'm thinking of trying to use Unity instead. After all, I can model and animate decently well in Blender now.
- Get a Nintendo Switch(?) and Smash Ultimate. At the moment, I only play during lunch with my friends, but somehow, I've reached the point where I often dominate in 1v1 matchups as Pichu. But then again, it is Pichu, and on Brawl I used to main Mario/Pikachu with Kirby on the side.
- Get together with friends more often, 'cause I'm getting tired of staying home and doing nothing during the summer.
- Earn some money for myself, either through a job or by setting up a Patreon for my stories. That way I don't have to rely on convincing my parents to buy me something since I have good grades. Plus I wouldn't have to mind the usual $20 limit on buying things to tinker with from the thrift store.
- Continue running the "RP-Geez" roleplay on my Discord server
- College prep!
- and probably more. There's quite a bit.
