How is the word Disabled offensive??? If anything, this is more polite and tame compared to mentally retarded or dotard or freak. Even I would be really miffed if someone calls me a retard. I know I'm autistic and have hearing problems, but not severely so.
Then again, looking at this website, it seems "disabled" is considered offensive by people who are disabled, but only if someone use it in a derogatory way of speech towards them.

It is never my guy it is everyone else elected offical, is most people's mantra.
The complete idiots in my state voted a guy in who promised that he would raise the gas tax by at least 20 cents. They are all surprised when he proposes just that. Heck his party has advocated a mileage tax every now and then.
Being disabled myself, I can't even work up the energy to be angry. Just disappointed and I'm not even from the UK.
