Article 11 and 13 (revisited) · 5:59pm Mar 26th, 2019
Hey all!
Was just informed by a European friend that those two nasty Articles made it through...or did they?
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2019/03/eus-parliament-signs-disastrous-internet-law-what-happens-next
For those worried about this, please realize that it isn't quite finalized and there's a reasonable chance that, especially now that it's been voted through despite VAST objections, it could still be rejected. All it takes is one key country (Germany and Poland's protestors seem to be quite adamant against it) and it would be back to the drawing board. Now that this has higher viability, that will, in turn, logically turn up people's animosity towards this proposal. That said it is bleaker at this stage, with things more finalized, but it still appears it could be long and drawn out regardless.
Outside of watching there isn't much to do except spread the word. That and, for those in the EU, get a good VPN service just in case XD
Peace

From what I've seen, even if the Articles go through, the doomsday ravings that they will kill fansites (including this one) are either exaggerations or worst-case scenarios. Either way, I'm just enjoying my time here while it lasts, however long that may end up being.

I like the way you think. People can get fixated on loss when they feel threatened, so it's possible fears are being played into a bit by different sources. The EFF can be a little intense and even silly with its use of rhetoric at times, but they seem to believe strongly in what they're talking about.
