So just how old ARE the Mane 6? · 1:26am Nov 7th, 2012
Yeah. Just a thought I had today while I was working on Chapter 13 of Pony May Cry.
Anyone here have an idea of just how old the Mane 6 are ?
I mean I know Dante and Vergil are both 19 years old, but it left me to ponder exactly how old the girls are.
Personally, I'm under the assumption that they're in their late teens to early 20s considering their lifestyles.
Rarity owns her own shop and tailors her own dresses.
Twilight Sparkle manages the library for the entire town.
Rainbow Dash has a full time job as a weather pegasus.
There's no sign they attend school anymore.
Plus from my guess, Shining Armor didn't look much older than Twilight ( I give him about a 5 to 6 year age difference at best) and was already getting married.
Perhaps, I'm thinking too much into this, but it's just something that's been bothering me if I'm going to write these next few chapters right.
What are your thoughts guys!?

Ahem. I think the ages of the Mane 6 (and indeed, characters in general in FiM) is left ambiguous on purpose. The way I see it, since there's no definitive age for anypony, the authors of fanfiction, fancomics, and the like, can make them however old they bloody well please.
Pinkie is probably the youngest out of them. Shining is probably 27 or 28. Spike is probably 16. So that leaves the rest to be from 20 to 26.
Just my guess.
We know that Fluttershy is a year older than Pinkie, and considering that most of them have committed themselves to full time jobs, they must be either in their late teens or early 20s. Also, considering that Twilight got Spike when she was just a little filly, and spike is STILL considered a baby dragon... i assume that spike either ages MUCH slower than ponies do, so him being 8-12 isn't exactly too farfetched...

That definitely would make sense. I'm kinda laughing now how the age difference between them will play out how I predicted.
Dante and Vergil being younger than the girls. Perhaps the same age as Pinkie Pie.
Now I think it's safe to say Dante can be seen as an obnoxious little brother by both AJ, Twilight and Rarity.

That's what always blew me away. I mean I know this had some anime overtones in the game, but when I found out how old Dante and Vergil were I was kinda taken back by how twisted and intelligent Vergil was.

481363 Actually, his goal was pretty simple and not THAT ambitious. To have power. Why, though, is the big question, and a fair few believe it's all because of what happened to Eva. Think about the end cutscene at the first fight with Vergil. Notice how he talks about how without might and power "you can't PROTECT anyone, let alone yourself". That specific word dictates that perhaps he's doing all of this so that what happened to him in regards to his mother will never happen again. I mean, if you are the most powerful being alive, no one's going to fuck with you or anyone you hold dear, right?

Indeed. That's what made him a great antagonist rather than a simple Villain. Although I suggest we not further delve into the Implications of Vergil's goals, lest we might say something that'll spoil. Although considering how old DMC3 is then Im pretty sure the spoilers are spoiled past their expiration date by now.

I still see people saying the new vergil is so great (mostly fangirls who don't recognize why it's a bad design in characterization and aesthetics...) along with the dirty little punk with a salor mouth that is "supposed" to be "Dante"... Ugh, i have alot of animosities over the new game, even though i am still giving it a fair shot with the demo...
And, yes, anything that involves proper characterization and growth with these sons of Sparda would make me a happy fan, even if it is just fan content...
While on the subject of Vergil, i ordered a Play ART's DMC3 Vergil and Dante figure set... they will sit with Nero and all my other figures...

481440 Fan interpretation is fine and dandy, but there is still a line drawn to how different you can take it... and NT's DmC incarnations of our sons of Sparda are so far across the line it passed it twice. Talk about OOC... honestly, to me, the new game is just an over-glorified and poorly written fanfiction...
I was never one for statues... I have a few here and there, but that's about it...
Speaking of interesting things, i am possibly the only one that actually has an Affinity (standard enemy from Bayonetta) action figure at my disposal...

HAHAHA Oh god, by no means Ninja Theory's Interpretation. No i mean't as in, the fans wanting to know more WHY Vergil did what he did. Good God DmC does have teh workings of a bad fanfiction though.
Demon Father, Angel Mother, SUPER MARY SUE WITH NO HUMANITY, God awful premise for a story centering around social commentary and how humanity is blinded by the demons that enslave them in a Pseudo Matrix esque story.
Yeah. Safe to say that I've never seen anyone butcher a franchise this bad since CAPCOM with Resident Evil and Megaman.

At the very least, Megaman was more or less just put out of it's misery... i can't say the same about Resident Evil... I mean, ok, i liked RE5 as a cheesy action game, but a horror game it was not. But, we can all say that RE:ORC was piss poor and RE6 was just as terri-bad...
