A call against child abuse · 6:31am Feb 23rd, 2019

Regardless of whether or not this post offends people, it needs to be said.

Pedophilia is evil and wrong. Regardless of one's orientation, it is wrong to expose children to abuse in order to fulfill a lustful appetite or, in fact, to any abuse at all. And that goes for priests and non-priests alike, and from the president or prime ministers of the most powerful nations on down to the poorest person living in the worst of conditions.

I have seen stories on fimfiction, and numerous pics on Derpibooru, that feature some use of kids in a way that is clearly designed to fulfill the sexual desires of the artist(s) and/or their audience. This doesn't make the

Using underage children (or anybody, but especially children) for such uses, even fictional children (of any species), is evil. It's unacceptable. Yes, a person may have a condition. Yes, that is terrible, and it needs treatment. We should help people who have these attractions, so that they might no longer have them. But giving into an evil because one is drawn to that evil doesn't make the action/activity any less evil. A murderer may be drawn to killing, or a man to lust after women, or a jailer to cruel treatment of prisoners; that doesn't make their actions any less reprehensible, nor does it keep them from being punished when they get caught doing those evil things that they are attracted to doing. It shouldn't be any different when people are doing terrible things to children.

Our society decries murder, foul treatment, injustice, and rails against cheating and lust... at least, it used to. And it still should. I'm not, repeat, NOT calling for people to go out and hate (or do worse) people who do terrible things. Don't take matters into your own hands, and don't take vengeance or go vigilante. Don't go hating them either. You're only adding to the misery and pain when you do. What I'm saying is that stories and art that mistreats the young and innocent - or anyone - should not be tolerated, even when dealing with fictional characters. If we do, how long will it take until that kind of abuse against a "non-existent" person translates into abuse of a real one?

It's necessary to make this. Society seems to be falling more and more to depravity, and it's well past time to reverse it, or at the very least to call it out, and hope that some hearts and minds may be changed. I don't how many will be convinced by this, but enough is enough.

For those who are believers, please pray for both those who are victims of this behavior and the perpetrators, that the former may be protected and saved, spiritually and physically, and that the latter may change their ways and receive the help they need, and be saved themselves. Don't hate those who do these things, but don't stand by and do nothing. Prayer is the least that can be done, and I know there are groups out there dedicated to defeating child abuse of all sorts.

May the Lord go with and keep you all.

Idk how I can help much, in terms of prayer I mean, but I give my complete support to you. It's sick and it's wrong that people do art or write about this crap, but I support you in let us, somehow, put a stop to it.

I completely support your stance on both this situation and the conditions of this situation. It’s completely unacceptable and morally bankrupt that anyone would support this as a legitamate art style anywhere.

Yeah. People have a hard time decrying the faults of people within their political spectrum or church these days. And when in a corner, they insist that it's really that they've been infiltrated by the 'opposing force'.:ajbemused:
But that's neither here nor there.

As much as it leaves a sour taste in my mouth because the content bothers me greatly (not to mention the moments of clenched fists and deep breathing exercises)...I'm opposed to mass censorship/removal of fictional content as you've described.
I will not be citing the Censorship vs Freedom of Speech/Expression arguments. I haven't the patience for it.

I've played a lot of video games that portray warfare, killing people, and use of psychological manipulation to 'win'.
I've played games that even arguably glorify these things.

I am not a murderer; and I very much doubt that you've gone through with thoughts over 'what if I do x' because in a fictional setting or how things would be better if y was dead; it worked very, very well for you.

The difference between us and people who act on impulses, is the mental clarity to recognize that it is wrong to act in such a way and the understanding that fiction should remain in the realm of fiction.
I'll certainly agree that these people need help. I thank the Divine often, and possibly not often enough; that I am blessed to not have such impulses and that my parents cared enough to teach me the difference between fiction and reality.
But I also have to confess that video games provide me an outlet for a lot of frustrations. I do not know if I would suddenly be more prone to violent confrontation without them; but I would prefer not to experiment with that.
Consequentially; for people keep themselves from making victims of children by keeping their temptations focused on fictional content: I would have to be a special flavor of hypocrite to suggest that we should do away with all of it.

Did Cain kill Abel because he read it in a book or watched someone else do it? You know better than me why he did it.

If this earns me a spot on your Blocked list, so be it.
Blessed be.
