Hey y'all
First of all, sorry for this, and sorry for it taking so long to spit out. It turns out, writing fiction for a thing you've lost most of your interest in isn't very easy. I still love the original FoE itself but I haven't interacted with anything pony related in three years, and my motivation to keep struggling to chip away at this story has dried up. The outline of the story is still there, and if I forced myself to I could probably put the words on the page but it wouldn't be very fun for me, and that would probably not make it fun for you to read. I'd considered doing a complete re-write, and that could still happen at some point in the future, stranger things have happened. For now though, Ashes current status can be summed up as 'indefinite hiatus'
There is some good news. While I've moved on from ponies, I've gotten into another work of fiction called Worm. I'm not going to pimp it here, but if anyone already happens to be a fan of that, I've very recently started a fic in its universe. The main character will be very very loosely based on Lumi in terms of appearance and powers, and the other three main characters may make an appearance.
Wrapping up, sorry for the bummer news, the story will still be here, and I'll always appreciate the comments and love you all shared, they helped me build up my confidence and drive to continue improving my writing.

Darn. Was looking foward to a new chapter. Well I guess I can't complain too much though. It's a great story and it's a shame it won't be completed. Good luck with whatever you decide to do instead.
