Happy New Year! · 6:01am Jan 1st, 2019
Happy 2019 everybody (except everybody west of Indiana, it's still 2018 for you all)!
2018 was... one heck of a year. Let me take a moment to look back on how my year went.
- Lost over twenty pounds on top of another ten between August and December 2017. I now weigh 190.2 as opposed to the 223 back in mid-2017.
- Graduated high school with a 3.2 GPA.
- Realized how much I want to join the Navy after a year and a half of contemplating it, then figured out what I want to do and when I want to do it.
- Swallowed my anxiety just enough to physically speak to a recruiter (four, actually, one of which being an Army recruiter I briefly spoke to at the office closer to home before he directed us to the Navy office elsewhere).
- Went on a trip for the first time on my lonesome, and paid for most expenses (I borrowed money for the airline tickets but quickly paid my grandma back in the weeks after booking my flights).
- Met new awesome friends, and lost a few as well, even one that I was really close to for years but turned out to be just an awful excuse of a human being.
- Went to Trotcon for the third year in a row, met some really cool people, and met someone I thought was cool, up until he pulled a stun gun on me in front of my friends outside the hotel.
2018 had its ups and downs, many of which I couldn't list here on the fly. 2019 will have those as well, especially towards the end heading into my October enlistment into the Navy. But I'm determined to make it great.
Well HAPPY 2019!!!
