The Land Before Time: The 30th Anniversary · 2:15pm Nov 18th, 2018

This was one was a long time coming. The retrospectives, the size charts I've posted save for yesterday, all lead up to this. I was, of course, puzzled on what I wanted to do, and one idea is to combine every aspect of the sequels. In the end, I thought of using each significant moment in each movie (Chomper's Birth, The Shark Attack, Bron's reasoning etc). This was also the only one that I've made that had trouble rendering, but I pulled through.

The Land Before Time was one of my many childhood films, and the sequels will always hold a place in my heart. They have their ups and downs, but they aren't unwatchable (unless you're not into musicals, then that would be a problem).

If I were to rank each of the movies in order of favorite, it would be:

1) The Land Before Time
2) The Great Longneck Migration
3) Journey of the Brave
4) The Stone of Cold Fire
5) The Mysterious Island
6) The Secret of Saurus Rock
7) Journey Through the Mists
8) The Great Valley Adventure
9) The Big Freeze
10) Time of the Great Giving
11) The TV Series
12) Journey to Big Water
13) Invasion of the Tinysauruses
14) The Day of the Fliers
15) The Wisdom of Friends

Would there be more sequels? Maybe. There was a nine-year gap thanks to the universally negative reception of the 13th movie, I can wait another nine years again. Unfortunately, such a gap has made the series very obscure, with only fleeting memories of the first movie.

Who would stand and bring this magnificent series to light? Who knows? It may yet be up to me as I explore my field of study on my own. I personally love to see more of the franchise, besides it's something most of us grew up with and share it with our children.

Generation upon Generation, each passing on to the next, the tale of their ancestor's journey to the valley long ago.

Don’t forget about “Journey of the Brave”.

Something I would definitely like to see in the future is how the kids can forever defeat Red Claw and his lackeys.
