3DMark 2001 SE benchmarks! (NOW WITH CHARTS AND RESULTS!) (PICTURES, TOO!) · 7:32pm Nov 3rd, 2018

The computer running the benchmarks is the open system underneath the mouse. The towers under the screen and keyboard are just serving as a makeshift desk because I didn't want to move everything over to my shed when I had moved everything into my much warmer bedroom instead.

It's only on test 5 out of 21, but two tests have had a solid 0 FPS, while the three others that have run have had (hardly) silky-smooth 5-8 FPS.

This is what a bottleneck looks like, kids. Geforce fx5200, AMD K6 @ 166MHz.

I'll see if I can get the benchmark results posted somewhere, or organized into a graph.

Idk.

Also, I had to downgrade the Nvidia graphics drivers because they caused boot loops.

EDIT: the Realtek 8029AS Ethernet card doesn't wanna run with any of the drivers I have. I've been carting files back and forth using flash drives and DVD-RW discs. And maybe a couple floppies.

Still trying to get wifi working in the meantime.

Note that Game 4 didn't run in high/low detail runs, just a single, comprehensive run. As a result, it has an average FPS but no FPS for individual high/low detail runs.
Game 1 froze on high detail, so no data was able to be collected.

I take it this is on your old computer? What would be the significance of 0 FPS?

Yes, this is on my first-ever computer, which while built in the mid-1990s, was given to me a when I was around 3 or 4, in the early 2000s.

The significance of 0FPS, or 0 Frames Per Second, means that the screen has pretty much become a slideshow of pictures instead of a smooth-running game/video.

By bottleneck, I'm referring to the "bottleneck effect" that's represented by the neck of actual bottles, which prevents liquid from being poured out at its maximum speed. In this case however, bottleneck is referring to the fact that I'm pairing a graphics card from the mid-2000s with a processor from the late 1990s. The card is as a result severely limited by the processor, and isn't able to run at its full speed.
