EDITORIAL: Proof to the conservative version of Wikipedia that Birthright Citizenship IS in the Constitution. · 3:35am Nov 2nd, 2018

President Trump announces that he will end birthright citizenship, and, Conservapedia says, "the liberal media falsely claim that would be unconstitutional." They continue, saying "Birthright Citizenship is not in the Constitution. Anyone who thinks it is, should cite the case!"

We ARE citing a case, the case that was passed by Congress on June 13, 1866 and ratified on July 9, 1868. Here goes:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the law.

Doesn't that entire block of text imply that what President Trump is doing, by ending birthright citizenship, is unconstitutional? Think about that before you write a sentence along the lines of what Conservapedia wrote.

You're absolutely correct - Trump doesn't have the means to end birthright citizenship, and I doubt anyone's going to amend the Constitution such that it will allow him or anyone else to end it. And I don't think that they should.

There should be an addendum and exceptions made for cases. Such as with those who's parents should not have been within the borders of the U.S.A
