Update 10/25/18 · 4:07pm Oct 25th, 2018
So, this is a long overdue update, but whatever.
My trip to Minnesota was pretty good. It got shortened a day because United Airlines offered to rebook any flights through Chicago on October 10th (the day I was meant to fly out) and thus had me spend an hour and a half on the phone trying to reschedule my flights to the 11th. Was a good idea, because Minnesota got slammed by a monster storm that damaged the Lake Superior coastline pretty heavily.
I also got a second job at a crafts store in my town (which works out better than the zoo because it is a lot closer, meaning I can work more hours, and it pays a little more, too) that my grandmother works at. So far I've been put to morning shifts with her, however over the next couple of weeks I will be moving over to evenings to train on a register.
Because of all of this, I'm trying to gauge my time perfectly to get all that I need done. I am still working heavily on driver's ed (I hate the online course so much), and now that I am working 4-5 days a week I haven't found myself motivated to write all that much. Thankfully since I only work a few hours each of those days, I can probably work something out as time passes.
At this point my goal of having A Sailor's Notes done before the new year is becoming a bit more far fetched, but I refuse to let it fall victim to another ridiculously long hiatus again. That said, the next chapter will not be done until probably the middle of November, depending on my schedule.
Oh congratulations
