My first story nears publication · 7:42pm Oct 5th, 2018
Finally, after a month and a week my first story is about formed into something the original plan proposed! Boy was it a long journey! Let's take a look at what it was and what it became to be.
My first story started off with only 500 words (about 4 KB). Then some text was added to lead the reader to the premise, which had ultimately expanded the story's size up to 76 KB (about 13,500 words). Surprise? No, actually it was Pinkie... Alright, seriously, Pinkie happened. She stirred my story astray and, ironically, brought it back on track (not without my help). I still suppose, it's an easy read, but -- sweet Celestia! Thousands of words! Over 10,000 (but under 15,000)! All of them -- out of blue! And Pinkie wasn't even supposed to perform as a main character!
And yet here she is, playing a significant role in this story. As I said in another blog post, if a character lives their own life, they shall liven the story up. But the price is the author's control over the story's course.
Also I think, I might need to reread the story's description, maybe, even rename the story itself: so much did the story stir away from the intended! God help this story not to go even more astray!
Other, than that, the story is readying to get published. Needs finishing its core and then going to coda, then a reread, error correction, comment removal, and then -- publishing! A long journey to go. Obstacles may arise. But I am set to conquer them all!
I am filled with determination (yes, an obligatory reference. Guess, to what).
