Mandatory Megadeth #2 · 4:59am Sep 7th, 2018
Goddammit, is it September already!? Welp, so much for that summer.
Anyway, it's hard to believe its been over a year since I put 'MLP EG Forever' on hiatus. I feel like I haven't accomplished much since I started back up in January, and compared to last year, I really didn't. From January 11th to August 10th, 2017, I published 79 chapters, but this year, from January 28th to now, I've published only 23.
And I do apologise for this lack of progress. Between being busy with real life issues and general fatigue from writing too much, not to mention getting better at writing --which, as per my experience, has gotten harder as I got better, not easier-- which makes publishing take longer because more thought is put into each chapter, as well as proof-reading each of them over and over... and over... and over. (I shit you not, when I first started this story, I would write a chapter, then skim over it --not even read it again-- and then BAM! It was published. WTF EBL)
I'm still working away at it, folks. Just be patient with me, that's all. I've had to set certain boundaries--like not forcing myself to write when I don't feel like it--and this inevitably slows me down, along with the mountain of work that goes into something like this. Don't be surprised if this story passes a million words by the time it's all said and done.
Anyway, onto the second track of 'Countdown to Extinction.' As with the story, I don't have a whole lot of time for stuff like this, so don't expect a three page essay for each of these songs; I'll probably just say a one or two general things about it--or sometimes even nothing at all.
So... here we have the Symphony of Destruction. This is probably the most well-known Megadeth song--or it was, at least. Put simply, 'Symphony of Destruction' is to Megadeth as 'Enter Sandman' is to Metallica, and from a technical standpoint, is one of the simplest Megadeth songs there is. But it's catchy, which is what made it so 'radio-friendly' in the first place, and is the reason it was so widely known.
I dunno... I'm just talking out of my ass here, so lets just get to the damn song.
What? I'M TIRED! I put all new brakes on a re-purposed ambulance today at work so I'm pretty worn-out and I don't feel like doing any research so I can say anything meaningful about this song. And I'm going to bed as soon as I post this blog, so... enjoy, and hopefully I'll see you with a new chapter in a few days. (maybe early-to-mid next week)
EDIT: Here’s a great breakdown of this song.
Jajajajaja you seriously think that is an issue to wait for you
Man your story is awesome take all the time you need
Hey man the way I see it your putting out chapters pretty regularly. I mean there are some story's in this site that get updated after like three or some odd years without any say so for why. Don't put so much pressure on yourself.
